Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting theme park news around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and other theme parks.
Here Are This Week’s Theme Park Highlights:
- Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for us! To celebrate the re-opening of updated Pirates of the Caribbean today, new attraction character Redd Pirate will be mingling with guests in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Resort. We love her role in the refurbished Walt Disney World ride and can't wait to meet this new swashbuckling lady!
- Continuing Walt Disney World's Incredible Summer, tomorrow is the debut of the new Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! concert at Epcot's American Gardens Theatre. Tad is leapin' to jam with his intergalactic faves like Star-Lord and Gamora.
- The only thing we love more than our favorite theme parks is when they give back to the community. Universal Studios Hollywood hosted "Christmas in Spring" for the 27th year last weekend. Hundreds of volunteers from the park's staff joined to bring food and fun to underprivileged local families, with appearances by some character favorites.
- Halloween Horror Nights 2018 is already breaking records ... and it's still months away from starting! Universal Orlando Resort shared four new upcoming houses and announced that the total number would break into double digits for the first time. With 10 houses, there will be more thrills and chills than ever before ... and we're loving the 80's theme so far that started with the announcement of the first ever Stranger Things house.
- Florida Residents, hop on this offer before it's gone on June 24: Florida Resident Disney Discover Tickets allow you to visit the parks for three or four days for as low as $160.87 — which works out to less than $54 a day! Check out why now is a great time to take advantage.
- More hoppin' entertainment has just splashed into SeaWorld Orlando. New show "Touch the Sky" just debuted as part of this summer's Electric Ocean event, and features mind-blowingly choreographed dolphins and macaws. Animal lovers Lily and Tad are so excited to see this interesting duo in action.
That’s it for the theme park news this week! Have a great weekend.
Hoppy planning!
