Like so many of you, I got up this morning with the express purpose of getting a reservation to Be Our Guest, even skipping my morning workout (pond hopping, if you must know). My grand dreams of the Frog Family dining at the Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant the week of Nov. 19, before the Fantasyland grand opening Dec. 6, have apparently been dashed – or at least temporarily unsuccessful. (Mommy Frog isn’t easily deterred.)
I followed the plans specifically outlined in the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids, even re-reading it over the weekend so I would be prepared Monday morning, but no luck. I placed more than 100 calls (easily quadruple that number, but apparently that is the max my phone will display) to 407-WDW-3463 starting in the seconds leading up to 7 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. EST, and only one of those calls actually connected to a Walt Disney World recording, and that was the call to announce that WDW dining reservations were still closed! The majority of my calls failed without even getting the operator’s “All circuits are busy…” recording.
Were any of you successful? What was your strategy? Do you think there will be any spots left by the time online reservations are up and running on Wednesday?
