It's time for the Frog Family's weekly roundup of Disney and Orlando theme park tidbits from the interwebs.
We love comments! Drop us a line below if you have something to share.
This week’s highlights:
-
Today is the grand opening of SeaWorld Orlando’s Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, and we have had a ton of coverage this week to celebrate. We cannot wait to bring you even more details about this spectacular attraction, which we got to preview, but just to whet your appetite, we will tell you it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Tad listed the penguins as the no. 1 thing he was looking forward to, and they did not disappoint -- it was thrilling to be able to get up close to them in sub-freezing temperatures!
-
It’s also the kickoff of Disney’s Monstrous Summer promotion and its All-Nighter at Magic Kingdom® Park (and Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on the West Coast). We shared tips last week, and we’re looking forward to some trip reports from those of you who are participating.
-
Foodies will be very happy to hear that reservations are available for Disney’s California Grill, which is closed for renovation, starting Nov. 18. This restaurant atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a perennial guest favorite and a great place to watch Wishes.
-
We’re getting closer to our annual price increase. You’ll need to buy tickets soon if you want the lowest prices of the year.
- Just in time for summer, a slew of resort-themed merchandise is making its way to the Walt Disney World Resort.
-
After much back and forth (and quite a bit of protest) over a redesigned Merida, the latest word is Disney is keeping the new Merida -- at least for a limited-run of merchandise. What do you think?
That’s all for this week. Until next week, happy planning!
