A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about slowing things down when you are at Disney World, with a focus on Hollywood Studios. It is so easy to get caught up in moment, but taking time to slow down and enjoy the little things really will make your vacation so much better! Today we're talking about taking five in EPCOT. Let's get started!
Cool it at Club Cool!
I love EPCOT's Club Cool! Not only can you literally "chill out" for a while, you can sample Coca-Cola products from around the world. Tucked right next to the Character Spot, Club Cool is an often overlooked attraction. I always add this to my list of suggestions for friends who are visiting Disney World and I am often surprised to learn that many of them have never heard of Club Cool. You simply can't miss this spot!
I chose this as a good slow down spot because: This attraction offers a pretty cool experience where you can taste your way around the world (of Coke products) for free, and it doesn't hurt that this is an air-conditioned spot! (Word to the wise, steer clear of Italy's Beverly...yuck!)
Catch a wave at The Seas with Nemo and Friends!
You really can see just about anything at Disney World. EPCOT's The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion doesn't miss the mark! From manatees rescued off the coast of Florida to magnificent dolphins, this pavilion puts the typical aquarium to shame! Not only can you see sea life of every sort, you can also learn from skilled cast members, enjoy attractions like Turtle Talk with Crush, and journey through the Seas with Nemo and his friends! You really can't beat this enormous aquarium!
I chose this as a good slow down spot because: You can walk around the aquarium at your leisure, there is plenty of great viewing, and you cancool off/duck out of the rain in this massive air-conditioned pavilion!
Try out some of the latest innovations at Innoventions!
I will be the first to admit, I am guilty of passing up the Innoventions Pavilions (there is Innoventions East and Innoventions West). In my defense, I'm usually on a mission to get to Soarin'. That said, the times where I've stopped to enjoy what Innoventions has to offer have proven to be a worthy stop. There are all sorts of hands-on activities, including Segway Central, where you can "test drive" a Segway or you can play in the Test the Limits Lab and smash and crash to your heart's content. Young and old will find a great place to slow down and have fun in this futuristic playground!
I chose this as a good slow down spot because: This indoor pavilion is air conditioned and has a wide selection of activities to choose from. Kids of all ages will love getting this hands-on experience!
I hope you all enjoyed this look at some of my favorite places to slow it down in EPCOT! I know it seems like slowing down is the last thing you'll be able to do at Disney World, but it is possible. I hope you'll try out a few of these suggestions next time you are visiting EPCOT! Join me next time for a look at how you can slow things down and enjoy Disney's Animal Kingdom! Until then ... keep it magical!
