On June 16, 2024, the Tony Awards aired live from Lincoln Center on CBS. It was a broadcast filled with touching moments, incredible performances, long-awaited victories and surprise cameos.
In a year filled with adaptations of beloved novels ("Water for Elephants," "The Great Gatsby," "The Outsiders" and "The Notebook"), long-awaited revivals ("The Who's Tommy," "The Wiz," "Merrily We Roll Along" and "Mothy Python's Spamalot"), TV and film actors taking the stage ("Mary Jane," "Uncle Vanya," "Appropriate" and "An Enemy of the People") and toe-tapping jukebox musicals ("Once Upon a One More Time" and "The Heart of Rock and Roll"), this was truly a Broadway season for the books.
