From Japanese Taiko drummers to a French waiter who balances atop a tower of chairs, the entertainment at Epcot is world-class. Here are five World Showcase shows that top our list of MUST-SEEs.
What looks like a simple comedy and juggling routine turns out to be a nail-biting and exhilarating balancing act. As many times as we’ve seen it, we still stand in amazement as the comical waiter and wine steward turn an ordinary table setting into a teetering tower of chairs with the waiter balancing atop them all! (Watch the video and see for yourself.)
Where to see the show: France Pavilion in front of Les Chefs de France Restaurant.
If you’re looking for exotic, you’ll find it at this Arabic fusion rock and belly dancing show in the Morocco Pavilion. Mommy Frog and I love the music, Lily loves getting a short belly dancing lesson during the show and Tad, well, he loves the belly dancer. Mo’Rockin is very popular especially later in the afternoon. (Watch the video of Mo’Rockin.)
Where to see the show: Morocco Pavilion under the covered stage next to the gift shop on the World Showcase Lagoon side of walkway.
Voices of Liberty is an 8-part a capella group that performs patriotic and folk songs like Yankee Doodle and Gonna Build a Mountain. OK…sounds charming enough. HA! Listening to these beautiful voices under the dome in the rotunda of the American Adventure will bring tears to your eyes. Even our ‘tween, Tad, loves this show. (Watch & listen to this video of Voices of Liberty.)
Where to see the show: Inside the American Adventure Pavilion.
Does molding a plain ol’ ball of rice candy into a fancy pink flamingo in less than two minutes sound impossible? Head to the Japan Pavilion and watch Miyuki do just that. She takes requests from the audience, so make sure to ask her to shape a beautiful Frog for you! Interesting fact: There are 15 trained “candy artists” in the world and Miyuki is the only woman. (Watch the video of Miyuki.)
This traditional 12-piece Mexican Mariachi band has been entertaining guests since the opening of Epcot in 1982. The sounds of guitars, trumpets, violins and amazing voices get the entire Frog Family into the dancing mood. It's a family tradition to watch them perform at least once on every trip. (Watch the video of Mariachi Cobre.)
Where to see the show: In front of the Mexico Pavilion.
Off Kilter…Canadian and Celtic Rock band (Canada Pavilion)
Matsuriza…Japanese Taiko drummers (Japan Pavilion)
Sergio…Italian Mime and Juggler (Italy Pavilion)
Ziti Sisters…Interactive Comedy Troupe (Italy Pavilion)
