Comcast NBCUniversal just announced a frogciting rebrand! The company's theme park division, formerly known as Universal Parks & Resorts, is now officially being called Universal Destinations & Experiences. According to the division's chairman and CEO, Mark Woodbury, this new name "aligns with [their] aspiration to be the Destination of Choice in the markets where [they] are today and the markets [they] enter in the future." This not only includes existing frog-favorite resorts, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, but also the company's newest ventures: a permanent horror experience in Las Vegas, Nevada and a tadpole-friendly theme park in Frisco, Texas.
This latest announcement comes directly on the heels of another hoppin' development. On March 7, 2023, the Frisco City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission approved Universal's zoning proposal for its Lone Star State theme park!
According to Universal, the rebrand is going to signal how the company is diversifying by bringing its iconic branded entertainment, culinary, gaming and consumer product experiences to life in unique and creative ways for new audiences, in new places and on new platforms in both the physical and virtual worlds. We can't wait to see what the future holds!
