by Leap on March 24, 2014

The Universal Orlando® Resort has announced the Halloween Horror Nights® 2014 dates, with the event running select nights Sept. 19 through Nov. 1.

This separately ticketed event held at Universal Studios is consistently awarded a Golden Ticket for Best Halloween Event by Amusement Today. Guests can tour the haunted houses, scare up some good eats and drinks, AND experience many of Universal Studios' top attractions during the event.

"Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando is the biggest, most intense Halloween event in the country, in the world," said Jim Timon, Senior VP of Entertainment at the Universal Orlando® Resort. "No one does it bigger, no one does it scarier, no one does it at the level that Universal Orlando does it."

Universal Studios Florida's Halloween Horror Nights 2013

Last year's event was themed around The Walking Dead, with the many undead roaming the streets of Universal Studios as well as a dedicated Walking Dead house. (You can read our recap of the event here.)

September 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 and 28

While this event is not recommended for young children, it is terrifyingly fun for teens and adults and one of Orlando's not-to-be-missed events!

Ticket information has not yet been released, but we will share that information when it's available! We do recommend purchasing tickets in advance, since many of the nights sell out.

Hoppy Horror Nights!

hey if universal is trying to make this event very scary how about the return of some permanent scare zones with variety of different monsters, psychos, and all things evil. bring back a hunchback monster, the phantom of the opera, Dracula or some kind of vampire, Frankenstein, a mummy type character, an invisible man, a creature of the black lagoon but modernized to something really scary, an evil mutant hybrid between a spider and a person, a mole person, a wild shark monster, an evil mad scientist working on dinosaurs, chuck y, Mr Hyde and Dr. Jekyll but modernized and with a more sinister and gory agenda, and other classic monsters return.

How does the horror nights work? do they close the park at a certain time? I have two children 11 and 14, we are staying onsite for two nights (Sept 26 + 27) both of which are horror nights, is this going to be a problem with crowds etc? thanks

Hi Monica,

Yes, Halloween Horror Nights begins at 6:30 p.m., and the park will close ahead of that for the party, although most of its attractions will be open during that time. HHN doesn't have a big impact on crowds during the day. While we don't recommend HHN for younger children, yours may love the experience! Are you thinking of going?

Best,

Leap

Hi leap

Yes we thinking of going as we come from Australia Halloween is something we don't celebrate. We have tickets to Mickey's Halloween party, do you know how much the tickets are and where can I get them from?

Hi Monica,

Tickets to Halloween Horror Nights haven't yet gone on sale and typically do in summer. Both events are very good, and they are very different!

Best,

Leap
