Overview of the Vegas Golden Knights
Even though it is the second youngest team in the NHL, the Golden Knights are one of the league's most remarkable stories — and quite possibly the biggest Cinderella story in all of sports. The team played (and won) their first game ever in October 2017 and went on to amass one of the best home records during the NHL's 2017-18 season. They even clinched the Pacific Division title — becoming the first true expansion team in the four major sports to win its division in its inaugural season (not counting all-expansion divisions). The Knights' inaugural season is widely considered the most successful of any North American expansion team. The team currently calls the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, NV home.
Their success didn't stop there, though! The team qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs in their first four seasons and successfully reached the Stanley Cup Finals in their first season! Additionally, their 13 playoff wins en route to the 2018 Finals are the most for any team during their inaugural postseason run. This year, the Knights returned to the Stanley Cup Finals and won their first championship, defeating the Florida Panthers in five games.
