We're Headed to SeaWorld -- What Would You Like to Know About Antarctica?

In case you haven't noticed, we're very excited about the launch of Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin! And since it's SeaWorld Week here on the blog, we thought it was only fitting that the Frog Family take a trip to SeaWorld to explore this new attraction.

Later this week, we're going to be touring Antarctica and talking to SeaWorld's experts, and we wanted to invite all of you readers to submit questions that we could ask about the new attraction -- or even just about SeaWorld in general.

SeaWorld penguinMaybe you want to know more about the four species of penguins that inhabit Antarctica and what accommodations SeaWorld has made to keep them super comfy in this brisk 30-degree space.

Or maybe you want to know more about the technology that lets Antarctica's mobile simulator move without a track, which allows for 32 different ride scenarios.

Perhaps you just want to learn more about SeaWorld's conservation efforts.

Since I've heard SeaWorld is packing in 5 tons of snow each day, I want to know if I need to pack my parka!

Hi Nikki,

Thanks for sharing your experience. Given that it is a brand-new major attraction, the 3-hour wait isn't totally unexpected, but not ideal. Hopefully it will get shorter soon!

For those planning to experience it, if you cannot get to the park first thing in the morning and be one of the first in line at Empire of the Penguin, we'd recommend waiting until later in the day when the shows have started. There is truly some incredible theming in Antarctica, and seeing the penguins up close in the frigid temperatures adds a level of authenticity that we’ve never experienced before at a theme park.

We are planning a trip to SeaWorld at the end of June. What is the best way to tour the park? Do we need to plan as much as a day at Disney?

Hi Angela,

We'll have some touring plan advice for SeaWorld coming soon! Generally, SeaWorld requires less planning than Disney World, but just as at Disney World, you will find the shortest waits and lowest crowds if you get to the park at opening. We suggest riding all of the big attractions first and plan in advance which shows you want to go to (you can see the showtimes listed on the park hours section of SeaWorld's website).

Have fun!

Hello Elizabeth,

While it could possibly be added later, it will not open with Quick Queue.
