After the success of her indie-pop band Chairlift, singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek pursued a solo career with the release of her critically acclaimed debut album Pang. Polachek has gone on to tour with Dua Lipa and has collaborated with a number of influential names in the indie and pop spaces. Pulling from childhood influences, her synth-heavy style has been labeled as alternative pop, art pop and avant-pop.
