Formed in 1972 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards, Chic became disco's greatest band, helping to extend the life of the dying genre by stripping it down from computer-produced tracks back to the basic elements. Known for hit singles like "Le Freak" and "Everybody Dance", Chic has had fans dancing for decades. With stylish grooves, Chic's sound utilizes a scratchy "chucking"-style rhythm guitar, memorable bass and powerhouse drumming.
