Ohio native Chrissie Hynde first fell in love with rock and roll during the British Invasion of 1964 and 1965 and played with a number of bands trying to make her mark. Known now as the undisputed public face and leader of the punk rock band The Pretenders, Hynde has also embarked on a successful solo career for other personal projects like her tribute to friend and influence Bob Dylan. Despite abstaining from formal vocal training, Rolling Stone ranked Hynde on its list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time and her live performances have been called inspirational.
