Originally active from 1985 to 1996, Australian rock band Crowded House began with an established Australian following due to two of the members former performances New Zealand band Split Enz. International success came with the release of their 1986 single "Don't Dream It's Over", which hit No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. After a couple of hiatuses and with a slightly more rock sound, the band is bringing their sophisticated take on melodic pop back on the road.
