In the Tony Award®-nominated play, "Home", Cephus Miles is a black Southern farmer who has the whole world in his callused hands until his sweetheart Pattie Mae goes off to college and marries another man. Through the hardships of losing his sweetheart, to facing jail time for opposing the Vietnam draft and experiencing difficulties surrounding his cross-country move, Cephus explores the joy and comforts of home and family.

Samm-Art William's "Home" was originally staged by the Negro Ensemble Company in 1979 and featured in the first year of Roundabouts Refocus Project. Kenny Leon ("A Soldier’s Play") directs this muscular and melodic coming-of-age story that gives voice to the unbreakable spirit of all Americans who have been searching for a place to belong.

The New York Times calls it "an uplifting folk ballad about the pure in heart".

Run Time: Approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes, including one (1) intermission.

Age Restrictions: Recommended for ages 15+. Children under the age of four (4) are not permitted in the theatre.
