Australian-born Iggy Azalea started rapping at the age of 14 and decided to move to the United States to pursue a career in hip-hop. Despite early struggles to get signed, the rapper shrugged off the critics and released her most successful song to date, "Fancy" featuring Charli XCX, in 2014 which charted on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped Billboard's Hot Rap Songs chart and US Dance Club Play chart. Influenced by Southern rappers, Azalea has a unique Southern rap sound mixed with electro-hop and her raps often include comedic or satirical elements.
