After entering a freestyle competition at the young age of 12, Jadakiss wowed the owners of Ruff Ryders and they set him up with two lifelong friends to form The L.O.X.. After getting the chance to collaborate with names like Puff Daddy, Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige and having success with the group, Jadakiss branched off in 2001 to pursue a solo career. With hit singles like “Why?” and “U Make Me Wanna” landing high on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, Jadakiss proved his gravelly voice and hardcore rhymes could stand on their own with several of his albums hitting Top Ten and becoming gold-certified additions to the hip-hop circuit.
