West Coast rapper Jay Rock was signed to Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) allowing him to release a number of mixtapes that landed him a major label deal. Commercial success followed tthe release of his single "All My Life (In the Ghetto)" featuring Lil Wayne and will.i.am. and in 2019 he received a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for "King's Dead". Proud to be "just a rapper", Hanley is also a member of the hip-hop supergroup Black Hippy.
