Daughter to Chilean musician Gastón Lafourcade and pianist María del Carmen Silva Contreras, Natalia Lafourcade was surrounded by music all her life. Her self-titled debut album was a mix of pop, rock, bossa-nova and Latin rhythms and was released at the same time she was the principal contributor to the soundtrack for the Mexican movie Amar te duele. Lafourcade has gone on to collaborate with multiple other musicians and projects, including participating in the original music for Disney-Pixar's film Coco in 2017, playing two versions of the song, "Recuérdame" in Spanish and "Remember Me" in English, making her an internationally recognized Grammy-winning and Latin Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and producer.
