Carnegie Hall - Weill Recital Hall
Occupying an entire city block in Midtown Manhattan for over a century, Carnegie Hall is among the best of the best in the world of classical music venues. Opening with recitals from the New York Oratorio Society, Carnegie’s Recital Hall was an “unusually impressive and grand” space for the time with impressive acoustical qualities that continue to delight guests today.
Although it is now the smallest performance space at Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall was the second major performance hall to open in New York City after the Metropolitan Opera House. It contains a total of 268 seats with orchestra seating and a balcony and is primarily utilized for chamber music concerts, panel discussions and debuts.
