Westside Theatre Downstairs
The Westside Theatre Downstairs is a popular off-Broadway theater nestled into the area known as Hell’s Kitchen between Ninth and Tenth Avenues in New York City. Originally serving as a church building in 1889, the venue became a theater in 1973. The downstairs auditorium houses a thrust stage and has an intimate seating capacity of 249. There is an additional auditorium upstairs onsite known as the Westside Theatre Upstairs. The venue has hosted numerous Broadway shows, including popular productions like “The Mystery of Irma Vep”, “Love, Loss, and What I Wore” and “The Vagina Monologues”, and was also a hopping off point for famous magicians Penn & Teller.
