NHL Winter Classic Tickets

The NHL Winter Classic, one of the most anticipated individual games in the National Hockey League (NHL) season, pays homage to the heritage of ice hockey by moving a regular season game to an outdoor stadium. Played on or around New Year’s Day, it is a festive way to bring in the new year for an NHL city. The very first Winter Classic was played in Ralph Wilson Stadium (now Highmark Stadium) in 2008 where the Pittsburgh Penguins were able to swipe away a victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Originally only American teams participated until 2014 when the game featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs set a new NHL attendance record.

For the 2025 NHL Winter Classic, the St. Louis Blues will face off against the Chicago Blackhawks as NHL takes over the iconic Wrigley Field in Chicago, home of the Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Chicago Cubs.
