Following his departure from alternative rock band Oasis, singer and lead guitarist Noah Gallagher's new band, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, began to release singles to positive reception. Their self-titled 2011 album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and was certified platinum.
