Former drummer and lead singer for rock band Genesis, Phil Collins also has a successful solo career, with more US top 40 singles than any other artist during the 1980s. As a child Collins began playing drums at five (5) years old and completed drama school training, appearing in musicals like Oliver!. After many successful years with Genesis helping to pioneer progressive rock, Phil Collins shifted his focus entirely to his solo work in 1996. Best known for songs like "In the Air Tonight", "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)", "I Wish It Would Rain Down" and his Academy Award-winning work for Disney’s Tarzan, Collins is a highly decorated artist as both a band member and solo artist, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Genesis in 2010.
