Veterans Memorial Coliseum
Historically significant to the Rose Quarter area, the Veterans Memorial Coliseum is an indoor arena that has been included on the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its architectural significance. The arena has served as the home lily pad for a variety of sports teams and it has hosted major events like the Final Four for the NCAA basketball tournament and NBA Finals since it opened in 1960. Portland's Rose Festival begins at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the venue was built to allow parade floats to pass through for seated guests to enjoy. The arena has also hosted a variety of croak-worthy artists like The Beatles, Paramore, Greta Van Fleet, Wu-Tang Clan and Hozier.
