Prayers Tickets

Aiming to break down the stereotypes within the goth and cholo subcultures, electronic rock band Prayers was formed in 2013 between Rafael Reyes and Dave Parley. Immediately after meeting, the pair began recording and completed Prayers’ first CD in three (3) days. Inspired by abrasive acts like Christian Death and Skinny Puppy with more accessible pop style like that of Depeche Mode, the duo pulled from Reyes’ teen experience in the Sherman 27 gang of San Diego to create their lyrical content mixed with the gothic rock of the 1980s, coining a new genre they called “cholo-goth”.
