Rush Over to Sacramento for Top Attractions & Things to Do
While often overlooked as a destination with the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe so close by, Sacramento is also packed with tons of frog family fun! Sacramento is known to many as the “Farm-to-Fork” capital, so a great way to sample the melting pot of flavors in the city is a food tour in the historic Downtown or trendy Midtown area. While in the heart of the city, hop over to the Old Sacramento Waterfront’s cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages that will help transport you back to the Gold Rush era. Don’t froget to stop by the golden Tower Bridge for beautiful views of the city. Tadpoles will love the chance to explore a real-life castle at Preston Castle and there are several frogtastic museums to spend hours in, including the California State Railroad Museum, the Aerospace Museum of California, Sacramento Children’s Museum and the newly added SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC).
Pack up the car with pillows and blankets and head over to West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive-In, the first drive-in theater in the United States, for a viewing of a favorite movie. Enjoy the California sun among 140 varieties of roses at California State Capitol World Peace Rose Garden. Watch salmon and steelhead climb the ladder at the Nimbus Fish Hatchery and have your tadpoles feed the thousands of babies. Thrill-seeking frogs love ziplining at Quarry Park Adventures over a former rock quarry and the classic amusement park rides at Funderland Amusement Park. Home to historic sites, hopnotch museums, a diverse foodie scene and so many attractions, you’ll have so much to see and do in Sacramento!
