Following their departure from metalcore band Iwrestledabearonce, singer Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Mike Stringer co-founded Spiritbox to better express themselves as artists. After viral success with the charting single "Holy Roller" and its remixed version with Ryo Kinoshita of Crystal Lake, Revolver, Alternative Press, Kerrang! and Metal Hammer all named Spiritbox's upcoming full-length album as one of the most anticipated releases of 2021. Eternal Blue topped the Billboard's Top Rock Albums and Hard Rock Albums charts when it finally did release. Wanting to keep their sound fluid, Spiritbox incorporates several musical influences while driving the metalcore genre forward with beautiful vocals, thrashing screams and djent-inspired guitar riffs.
