Emerging from the do-it-yourself (DIY) Los Angeles music scene, Automatic is a guitar-free, synth-based new wave band. This trio coolly shares vocals, providing energetic on-stage performances for their loyal following. Their 2019 debut album, Signal, established their droning synthesizer sound while dystopic Excess from 2022 touched on the political climate of consumer culture while staying surprisingly danceable.
