Wright Museum of African American History has been a ribbiting cultural beacon in Detroit’s Midtown for over half a century. Spread out across 125,000 square feet, the museum features permanent and rotating exhibitions. Permanent exhibitions include a comprehensive look at the history of the Middle Passage and Civil Rights Movement, a photomontage of local Motor City artists that gained national and international fame and larger-than-life art pieces that help to memorialize iconic African Americans throughout our nation’s history to raise the voices and spirits of these influential changemakers.
