New Orleans
Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience
The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience is all about exploring the fascinating stories of Jews in the American South and how they've shaped and been shaped by their new surroundings. Started back in 1989 at the Henry S. Jacobs Camp in Utica, MS, it began as a way to keep Jewish culture alive in the Deep South. Over the years, it grew into the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL), spreading its reach across thirteen Southern states. After moving to New Orleans in 2012, the Museum got a fresh start, becoming a space for learning and cultural exchange. Today, it's a lively hub where frogs of all ages can come together to explore history, identity, and acceptance in a fun and engaging way.
