Our Guide to 1900 Park Fare Restaurant — Now Open!

Inside This Post Inside This Post

One of our favorite offerings at Walt Disney World is character dining, so you know we are extra excited that 1900 Park Fare has returned! As of April 10, 2024, the restaurant at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa continues its iconic history while also bringing in some new, enhanced touches — including a whole new lineup of characters! Here is everything you need to know about this enchanting restaurant, plus our full breakfast review.

1900 Park Fare - Aladdin Selfie

Overview of 1900 Park Fare

Located off the main lobby of the Grand Floridian, 1900 Park Fare pays homage to early 20th-century carousels with whimsical artwork and decor complimenting the white resort interior. The reopening features a refurbished dining room with a new mural and portraits of favorite Disney characters. Keeping with some of the restaurant's rich history, Big Bertha — an antique organ that has resided there since 1988 — remains a centerpiece.

When Is 1900 Park Fare Reopening?

We are so hoppy that the 1900 Park Fare reopened April 10, 2024! Advanced reservations are available now and are highly recommended. Breakfast or dinner counts as one table-service meal with the Disney Dining Plan.

1900 Park Fare Characters

1900 Park Fare - Tiana

With the 1900 Park Fare reopening, the restaurant hosts a whole new lineup of characters! While dining, guests can meet Aladdin (in his Prince Ali outfit), Cinderella, Mirabel and Tiana (in her new look from Tiana's Bayou Adventure). All the characters understand the power of making a wish. It's great to see a mix of classic and new characters, especially with rarer outfits. You know we frogs are always excited for more "The Princess and the Frog" representation!

1900 Park Fare - Dining Room

Our Final Thoughts

1900 Park Fare - Strawberry Soup

We had breakfast at the recently reopened character dining and felt like Disney royalty. With beloved character interactions, a heartwarming wish granting ceremony and a delectable all-you-can-eat buffet, this opulent dining experience was truly a wish come true. As soon as we entered the grand hall of a dining room, we were surrounded by stunning portraits of Disney's notorious wish makers, such as Ariel in her grotto wishing to be part of our world, Snow White at her well wishing for true love, Belle in her village wishing for "adventure in the great wide somewhere" and even Asha wishing on Star for more for the people she loves.

As soon as we sat down, we were served our first glass (of many) of Walt Disney World's delicious POG (passion-orange-guava) juice. We were also given a card with a wishing star on it and all the wish-makers' autographs on the back where we told to write down our heart's greatest desire. (What do you think we wished for?)

After our waitress took our drink orders, we were free to make our way to the buffet where we stacked our plates high with hearty savory options, such as Cheesy Potato Casserole, Croissant Breakfast Pizza and Classic Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise Sauce and mouthwatering sweet options, such as Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread, Bread Pudding with vanilla crème anglaise and, of course, Mickey Waffles. Everything hit the spot ... but the (wishing) star of the show was the famous Grand Floridian Strawberry Soup with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. It tastes exactly like a creamy strawberry milkshake in a bowl. Talk about refreshing!

1900 Park Fare - Mirabel Selfie

Once we were all settled back at the table, our favorite wish-makers started coming around and greeting us. First was Aladdin who recalled his fateful meeting with Genie and told us that he wished Jasmine were there to enjoy a nice meal with him. Next up was Mirabel who wondered if the food was as good as her mamá's and showed us how all her family members were represented on her dress. Then, we got to meet Cinderella who told us how Gus Gus was trying to swim in the Strawberry Soup and pointed out all the "charming" details on her beautiful ballgown. Lastly, Tiana came by and informed us of the importance of sensible shoes in the bayou and how difficult it is to feed all her new critter friends. They all spent so much time with us and posed for a plethora of pictures.

1900 Park Fare - Wish Ceremony Cinderella

The cherry on top of the whole experience, however, was the wish-making celebration — narrated by none other than Jiminy Cricket! The iconic conscience instructed us to hold our wishing star in the air and lead us in a group wish. He then told us that some wishes are granted right away while others take a little time, but that everything we need to grant our wish is already within us. We just need to believe in ourselves. (You can bet I was tearing up at this point — especially when the celebration ended with "When You Wish Upon a Star!") The wish-making celebration hoppens about once every hour. And don't worry if you have a late meal time! Jiminy made sure to help us make our wish even after breakfast officially ended at noon.

This character dining location has been well-loved for many years and for a good reason. We're beyond frogcited it's returned with some new renovations but the same magical charm! The restaurant itself continues the elegance of the Grand Floridian with a variety of food options and a unique set of characters. We can't wait to return for dinner!

Will the Grand Floridian still be decorated for Christmas January 1-4th?

Hi Angela!

Usually, decorations at Grand Floridian start coming down the first week of January, so it's definitely a possibility you'll see them then, but there isn't an exact date for when they'll be gone.

Does anyone have experience with what kids can get as a nicer non-alcoholic drink option at 1900 Park Fare, if they're on the DDP? Are they just stuck with the regular options, or can they order one of the non-alcoholic speciality options?

Hi Jordan!

Based off the wording on Disney's website, both the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan state that guests ages 3 to 9 must order from a children's menu, where available — and guests ages 10 and older can choose one nonalcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered). A single-serving nonalcoholic beverage includes milkshakes, fresh smoothies, premium hot chocolate, soda, coffee or tea. It would not include a drink served in a souvenir container.

Are the same characters there for breakfast and dinner? Do you need a park pass or can you go to this on a different day? How does the price compare to Cinderella’s Royal Table?

FrogBlog Says...

Hi Miriam!

Yes, the same characters host breakfast and dinner. Because 1900 Park Fare is at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, you do not need park tickets or theme park reservations. As far as pricing goes, 1900 Park Fare is the cheaper option of the two. For breakfast, it's $54 (adult)/$34 (child) at 1900 Park Fare, while it's $69 (adult)/$42 (child) at Cinderella's Royal Table. For dinner, it's $66 (adult)/$41 (child) at 1900 Park Fare, while lunch & dinner are $84 (adult)/$49 (child) at Cinderella's Royal Table.

Hi my friend and I have a 8:15 AM breakfast dining reservation at 1900 park fare and we are staying at the Drury Plaza hotel in Disney Springs and I was wondering what time should we arrive at the grand Floridian Hotel to make our reservation

Hi Stephinny!

In general, you can check in as early as 15 minutes before your dining reservation (which you can do through the My Disney Experience app or wait until you're at the restaurant's check-in stand). For 1900 Park Fare specifically, we would suggest at least 15 minutes, particularly if you are driving, because you would need go through security and then you may be directed to park across the street from the resort in overflow parking for dining-only guests. We have encountered cast members driving golf carts to help with transportation across the street to the Grand Floridian's lobby entrance, but you may want to pad in an extra 5 or 10 minutes in case you decide to walk or wait for a golf cart (if in use).

Well me and my friend are not bringing our own car our parents are dropping us off and were using our hotel transportation and the buses take us to the TTC how do I get from the TTC to the grand Floridian before our reservation

If you're being dropped off at the TTC, then you can take the Resort Monorail to the Grand Floridian. It's usually just a short ride (and it stops at the Polynesian Village Resort before the Grand Floridian). We'd recommend arriving at the TTC around 7:45 a.m. because you will need to go through security (padding in some extra time in case there's a line), and then waiting for and riding the monorail would probably take about 10 minutes.

I know the wish card comes with signatures on the back but will the characters also sign other personal items?

Hi Tim!

From our experience, we froggies only received the signature card, but we only asked for photos and videos to capture our interactions! We think it wouldn't hurt to ask, but just expect that you'll only get the card and anything extra would be Disney magic :) if anyone else had a different experience, feel free to chime in!

About how long should we allocate for the breakfast? An hour? Hour and a half? Thanks so much.

Hi Kayla!

To be on the safe side, we'd recommend budgeting an hour and a half so you don't have to worry about rushing through the dining experience. The wish ceremony takes place about once an hour, so you don't want to miss out on that! It could always end up taking less time (~ an hour), but an hour and a half would be the maximum amount of time we'd recommend.

Are there gluten free options in either the breakfast or dinner buffets?

Reply
Apr 17, 2024 at 10:26 a.m.
FrogBlog Says...

Hi Sarah!

Gluten-free options are available. An allergen guide with specifics is available upon request at the restaurant, and the cast members are very proactive with asking if there are any allergies to be aware of (you can also note allergies when you complete mobile check-in). While steps are taken to mitigate cross-contamination, buffets may be susceptible to cross-contact due to the self-service approach. We recommend that guests speak to a cast member about their allergy-friendly request.
