It's time for the Frog Family's weekly roundup of Disney and Orlando theme park tidbits from the interwebs.
We love comments! Drop us a line below if you have something to share.
This week’s highlights:
-
We’re getting closer and closer to the biggest launch in SeaWorld Orlando’s history with the opening of Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. With only a month away, the Frog Family can hardly wait for this combination exhibit/attraction to open! Luckily, SeaWorld has released a new installment in its “Behind the Freeze” series, this time revealing more details about the attraction’s incredible theming.
- The Walt Disney World Resort announced its plans for a Monstrous Summer, celebrating the big screen debut of Disney-Pixar's "Monsters University" on June 21. Mike and Sully will be dropping in at the parks all summer long.
- Speaking of Mike and Sully, the whole “Monsters” gang pulled into the Magic Kingdom this week as a wrap on one of the monorail cars.
-
SeaWorld's Antarctica and Universal's Transformers have landed on Frommer's list of the eight most exciting amusement park additions for 2013.
- Beyond those two big attractions, one of the things Tad is most looking forward to this summer is the new interactive Magic Kingdom game, A Pirate's Adventure. The folks at Touring Plans report on a test of the new game.
-
My fellow dad at Dad's Guide to Walt Disney World shared the SECRET to avoiding Disney World CROWDS with us earlier this week. He offers up some additional strategies for dealing with crowds on his own blog.
-
Universal Studios announced the dates for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, which is guaranteed to scare the living daylights out of you! Yep, Mommy Frog and I are already looking forward to this year’s event!
- The Frog family is quite excited to hear that a new Disney parade, Festival of Fantasy, is coming to Magic Kingdom Park in spring 2014. The parade will include new floats, costumes and an original soundtrack that highlight the stories of “The Little Mermaid,” “Sleeping Beauty”, “Tangled” and more!
-
In just a few short months, Coke Freestyle has rolled out at Universal, Disney and now SeaWorld. Attractions Magazine has the scoop on what it means for guzzling guests.
-
"Star Wars" fans won't want to miss the special events taking place in Disney's Hollywood Studios on May 4, the annual fan-proclaimed "Star Wars Day". Tad can't wait for the special Jedi Training and Star Wars-themed fireworks scheduled for that day. He's also rejoicing over the news that a new "Star Wars" film will be released every summer starting in 2015.
-
Last but not least, Lily took us on a tour of sorts yesterday of
her favoritethe best kids’ resort activities. Yep, there's always a ton to do at the Walt Disney World Resort -- which is why we love it so much!
That’s all for this week. Until next week, happy planning!
