A Disney Savings Jar for Your Next Trip!

Anticipating and planning for a trip to Disney World or Disneyland is part of the whole excitement. And saving can be a fun part of the process. Since every penny counts when you're headed to Disney, this cute little Disney savings jar will help the whole family start saving money and get ready for those souvenirs! My son and husband are actually going to Disneyland in a few weeks and my 5-year-old is so excited to use his new jar.

Disney Savings Jar

You'll need:

Disney Savings Jar

A clean empty jar and lid

Clay (bake or air dry kind)

Toothpick

E6000 glue (comes in a silver tube, can be found at most craft stores in their adhesive section)

Spray paint

Stickers or vinyl lettering

Shape the clay into 2 small balls and 1 larger one. Flatten the two smaller ones slightly.

Clay Mickey Head by Crafting in the Rain for Undercover Tourist

Cut small pieces of the toothpick, poke into the head and ears and apply a tiny amount of glue and attach them. Air dry or bake according to clay instructions.

Glue head to lid and spray paint when dry. I used two coats of metallic gold.

Disney Savings Jar

Apply stickers to spell Mickey Money (or Disney Dollars :) or cut out your own vinyl.

Then watch those dollars add up!

So I want to know, who is currently saving for a Disney trip?

Oh, Steph, I love this idea! We decided that our ENTIRE family (grandma/pa, uncles, aunts, cousins....a whole crew) will go the end of 2015, so we need to start saving now to make that happen. I've been searching for a super cute and fun way to stash our funds, and this is it! Thanks a bunch for sharing :D

My friends and I go to Disney every year and through out the year when we pay cash for something, every $5 bill we get in change goes into the Disney fund. We even have places we go to regularly where they know we are doing this, so they will give us all $5 back in change.

I do something similar - but with $1s and change. I pay for everthing with $5s or higher and then put the rest in a jar each night. You would be surprised how fast it adds up and I don't even know it is missing - great for Disney vacation spending money!
