Mobile ordering is one of the best ways to skip the food lines and satisfy your hunger ASAP. Locations that offer mobile ordering will have separate stations just for those with mobile orders so you can grab your food quickly. With so much to do on a Disney trip, it can be great to maximize your time by mobile ordering. That means you'll want to have a basic understanding of how mobile order works before your trip — that's why we're here!

Overview of Mobile Ordering

Mobile Ordering at Disney World

Using the My Disney Experience app, you can order food at most quick-service locations inside the parks and a few restaurants at the resort hotels and Disney Springs. Mobile ordering is only available for same-day ordering, but you can create orders for the entire day in the morning. The app offers detailed menu items, so you can easily see what you want, customize and even filter results. After you place your order online, there's no waiting in line. You just arrive for the fun part ... picking up your food! It's pretty frogtastic!

Mobile ordering has quickly become one of our favorite ways to save time in the parks, and it's oh-so-simple. You can purchase your food at any time and anywhere. If you find yourself needing to make a mobile order, here's what you do!

How to Use Disney World Mobile Ordering

1. In the My Disney Experience app, click the "+" icon at the bottom, or pull up the side menu and click "Order Food." A list of all the available locations at each park will pop up, so you can easily browse your selections.

Disney World Mobile Ordering - Building Your Order

2. Next, select the restaurant you want to order from and an arrival time window. Disney World mobile ordering is available at each of the four theme parks, two water parks, Walt Disney World Resort hotels and select locations at Disney Springs. In a recent update, it is now easier to select your location by using the drop-down menus. You can also toggle between the "As Soon as Possible" or "Schedule for Later" tabs depending on when you want your food. You will need to choose an arrival time window from the available 30-minute slots.

Most restaurants will have availability right away while popular spots, such as Woody's Lunch Box, will have times further out. The sooner you can order, the better! Spots can fill up quickly! View the menu, or use the "Find on Map" and "Get Directions" functions to see how far you are and how to get there from your current location.

3. Build your order. Our favorite part of Disney World mobile ordering is the detailed menu descriptions. This is handy for picky eaters or those with food allergies. We recommend taking a break in a quiet area, such as the Hub at Magic Kingdom or CommuniCORE Hall at EPCOT to place your order carefully. You can search for items based on different categories, including entrees, sides, kids' meals, beverages, desserts, plant-based options and allergy-friendly options.

4. Choose a quantity. When Lily wants the same food item as Tad, her older brother, it's easy as pie! We simply change the quantity from one to two.

5. Add sides and/or customize your selection. Maybe you need to choose between apple slices or fries as your side, or maybe you want "no onion" on your burger. After you select your menu item, click "Customize Your Selection" to make any changes you need. If you do have any food allergies, you can make selections from allergy-friendly items. Just be sure to double-check with the restaurant upon arrival to make sure your needs were met!

6. Click "Add" and then continue ordering. You can keep adding items for your whole frog squad. Don't froget your drinks, sides and desserts!

7. Click "View My Order." You'll see a summary of your order. If you need to, you can make modifications. There's nothing worse than having to hop back in line or waiting for a second order because you forgot something.

8. Click "Review Order Summary." You'll see information about your arrival time, another list of your items and your payment method. You can insert any promo codes, use a credit card, debit card, Disney Gift Card, Disney Rewards Redemption Card or Apple Pay!

9. Click "Purchase!" You can do mobile ordering as far in advance as you want for the whole day, as long as the restaurant has time windows available (the restaurant doesn't even need to be open at the time you place the order, but you'll only see available windows during its operating hours). If you need to change your arrival time window or cancel the order, you may do so before you hit "I'm Here, Prepare My Order."

Mobile Ordering at Disney World – Blue ready for pick-up screenshot

Ready to Pick Up Your Disney World Mobile Order?

When you're near the restaurant, hop back on the app, and click "I'm Here, Prepare My Order."

We recommend clicking "I'm here" when you're close to the restaurant. It usually takes at least a couple of minutes before your order is called, but sometimes it can be almost immediate. That way, you don't have to spend as much time waiting outside the restaurant, especially during peak times. Make sure to turn the app's notifications on, as you'll get a mobile alert when your order is ready! If you need to find your mobile order, navigate to the side menu where you'll click on "Mobile Food Orders" to see your active orders.

Once your food is ready, the screen will turn blue with an order number and which pick-up station number you should head to. Cast members may not allow anyone into the mobile order line until their food is ready for pickup, so once you get to the blue screen, you're all set!

Head to the mobile pick-up counter at the restaurant and pick up your food! Show the cast members at the entrance that your food is ready, and they will let you through. The pick-up stations are numbered and can be easily located.

A FAQ we receive is, "What happens if I don't pick up my food?" Unfortunately, you pay the price for convenience. If you fail to retrieve your food without canceling the order, you may still be charged.

Easy breezy, right? If you haven't tried it already, Disney World mobile ordering is a must! It makes mealtime so much easier. What do you think about mobile ordering? Tell us in the comments below!

Hi Melissa!

If everyone's orders will be on the same check, sure thing! But if you're wanting to pay separately, then it's easier to make separate Mobile Orders — just be sure to select the same time window.

Is the stand by lines too crowded at the restaurants? Is it possible to do the parks without mobile food order?

Hi Fernanda!

You don't have to use Mobile Order! There are a few restaurants that use Mobile Order exclusively, and we find it is a big time-saver (especially since you access it right from the My Disney Experience app!). We'd say to expect about a 15-20 minute wait via standby lines at this time.

Can you mobile order & pay cash when you arrive? Is there any "pay cash" option?

Hi Diane!

If you wish to use mobile ordering, you can only pay electronically via Apple Pay, Disney Gift Card or Disney Rewards Redemption Card, or a credit or debit card. However, most locations have stopped being Mobile Order-only and can take cash via a regular standby line (though a few spots may still have a Mobile Order-only policy in place).

Do you HAVE to use mobile ordering? I feel like it would be hard to decide a specific time and place to eat for later in the day. Maybe I'm thinking about it too much. :)

Hi Pamela!

A few places still require mobile ordering, but most have mobile ordering and regular standby lines available. Also, there are lots of places that will have mobile ordering times available right away, so you don't have to plan too far ahead of time. Though we have seen wait times for mobile ordering increase when the parks get super busy.

Can you mobile order food for someone while you are not in the park? If so how can they pick up the order if they don’t have access to your Disneyland account app?

Hi Chayne!

Yes, you can mobile order from anywhere. You can give them access to your Disneyland account (we give ours to Tad). But if you do not want to give out your username and password, then have them let you know when they're close to the restaurant so you can tap "I'm here, Prepare my order." When the order is ready, you can screenshot the order and text it to them or tell them the order number and they can pick it up.

What happens if I am late for my arrival time window? Will I still be able to press the "i'm here" button?

Hi Leashy!

If you are late, you may still be charged for your order (though sometimes the order is simply canceled) - if you know you'll be late, we'd recommend canceling or modifying your order and trying for a new window.

Hi Rocco!

This varies - some quick-service restaurants allow for ordering at the window, and some are mobile-order exclusively. You'll see signage near the restaurant if mobile order is required.

Hi Tess!

Yes, Mobile Order is only for the day of - you can order in advance that same day (i.e., ordering for dinner that morning), but no further than that. Hope this helps!

Can you please dinner orders before arriving at the park or do you have to be in the park? Wasn't sure how far ahead you could place an order.

Hi Paulette,

Yes! You can place a mobile order from anywhere at anytime on the day of, even before the restaurant opens (when selecting a timeframe for pick-up, it will only show timeframes during the restaurant's operating hours). If you hoppen to change your mind later, you can cancel the order as long as you haven't hit the "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" button, and you will not be charged.

Thanks for this info! I would like to get some mickey waffles to go from our resort restaurant Primo Piatto picked up around 7:10 AM. We plan to take the kids in our stroller and they eat while we travel to HS via Skyliner. They open at 7AM. What time will the 7:10 AM window for mobile ordering open?

Hi Morgan!

You should be able to try as soon as you're awake! Generally, you can order and reserve your spot before the restaurant opens, so we'd plan to hop on the app once we woke up :) Have fun!

We loved mobile order. That is all we used when went over Thanksgiving week. It mad things so much easier. (Especially when ordering for a large group). Keep in mind though, if it’s crowded, there may not be an order window available. When we ordered from Woodys lunchbox, the earliest window was an hour later. (Almost everything else had a window available pretty close to when we wanted to order)

Can mobile orders be placed for resort locations (not staying at) and then allowed to drive there for pick up?

Hi Mandy!

To our knowledge, visiting non-home resorts is possible right now via Disney transportation (i.e., Skyliner, ferryboat or bus), but not with your own vehicle. Or, you can hop to a non-home resort with a dining reservation, including driving in and parking - just not mobile order pick-up at this time.

I did this at Starlight in MK. When i arrived i still had to wait almost 20 min for my order. Lots of people are doing the mobile order. I think the people that were doing regular orders were a lot faster.
