The Glowing Guide to SeaWorld Orlando's Electric Ocean

by Mommy Frog on June 2, 2021 Orlando

Electric Ocean - PinterestYou know the Frog Family can't resist a special event or festival at any of the Orlando theme parks! SeaWorld Orlando is one of our favorite places to check out limited-time shows and exclusive offerings because it always splashes up something truly out of the ordinary. SeaWorld does such a toadally terrific job of highlighting its ocean theme. That's why we're excited to share that SeaWorld Orlando is hosting Electric Ocean on select nights from May 28 to Sept. 6, 2021, with more fun than ever before!

Our favorite part about this event is that it truly brings SeaWorld alive at night with gorgeous, glowing decor and interactive excitement. What better way to enjoy the park outside under the setting sun? We had so much fun grooving on the dance floor and enjoying the colorful bioluminescence that illuminated the park. Leap and Tad were even able to hop right onto Mako just as the sun was setting and were treated to a frogtastic view!

Don't worry, there's plenty to enjoy all day long, but many of Electric Ocean's main events take place as the sun goes down, from 5:30 p.m. to park close. We're here to give you the latest and greatest details on SeaWorld's summer celebration, Electric Ocean.

Electric Ocean Dates

Keep an eye out! Electric Ocean varies between taking place daily and on weekends only. On most nights, the park closes at 10 p.m., but on select nights, it may stay open until 11 p.m. or midnight (specifically Fourth of July weekend). Be sure to check the calendar before your visit to make sure you don't miss out on any of the fun! Electric Ocean is taking place on the following nights:

  • May 28-31
  • June 4-6, 11-13, 18-30
  • July 1-31
  • August 1-8, 13-15, 20-22, 27-29
  • September 3-6

Electric Ocean Exclusive Entertainment

Electric Ocean - Ignite Fireworks

Ignite Fireworks

See the sea in the skies with SeaWorld Orlando's very own fireworks extravaganza! Fireworks inspired by under-the-sea beauty and color ignite the sky for your viewing pleasure. That's not all — fountains, music and fire combine to produce a spectacle that is sure to captivate your senses. Fireworks can be seen from all over the park, including Bayside Stadium, the Waterfront and the Orca Encounter Pathway. However, if you want the full experience, the dancing fountains are best viewed from the stadium. Showtime starts at 10 p.m. each night of Electric Ocean.

Electric Ocean - Club Sea Glow

Club Sea Glow

Be sure to pack your dancing shoes when you visit Electric Ocean! Dance the night away from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (weather permitting) at Bayside Stadium. This family-friendly "dance club" environment hosts a world-class DJ and impressive performers that embody colorful ocean vibes. The DJ mixes music for all ages, making it easy to dance and sing along to — adult frogs croaked along to Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer," while the tadpoles danced to Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music." Leap and I switched between getting down with the tadpoles and fellow aquatic life on the dance floor and relaxing on the stadium seats. Our webbed feet really enjoyed the break!

NEW! Rescue Tails

Rescue Tails is a new educational show that introduces you to many of the park's rescued animals, including birds, primates, reptiles and more! You'll learn all about their stories and SeaWorld's commitment to animal care and rescue. Catch the show on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during Electric Ocean at Seaport Theater – just a short hop away from the park entrance!

NEW! Electric Current

Electric Ocean - Electric Current

At this all-ages dance party right across from the Seaport Theater, a live DJ will get the celebrations started early with hot music and dancing at The Waterfront. This is a great place to have some fun and get your body moving if your little froggy legs can't make it to the bigger dance party across the lake at 8 p.m. (though it continues on even after the Club Sea Glow party starts!).

Elmo Rocks

Electric Ocean - Elmo Rocks

Elmo is forming his own rock 'n' roll band with his friends after their favorite band cancels its concert. Watch Elmo, Zoe, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Bert and Ernie go through auditions and rehearsals until they perfect their new band, The Rockin' Elmo Band. Expect lots of music, dancing and audience participation at Nautilus Theater!

Fourth of July Weekend Celebration

On Independence Day, even the ocean is celebrating! Electric Ocean's "Ignite" will feature a patriotic grand finale in honor of the holiday.

All of the summer shows listed above come with your SeaWorld Orlando ticket, but special seating can be reserved at an additional cost if your family is leapin' to experience one in particular.

Electric Ocean Merchandise and Apparel

Electric Ocean - Girl with Glow Sticks

Become part of the party yourself with limited-edition merchandise that allows you to glow with the flow. Blacklight reactive shirts and glasses are available for purchase. There's a wide variety of merchandise using RFID technology to help you light up, blink and react to the beat! Souvenirs such as necklaces and glow wands respond to your surroundings, matching the color and beat of your light with those around you. It's an out-of-this-world experience.

Electric Ocean Dining

Electric Ocean - Altitude Burgers

Discover new restaurants, signature drinks and desserts all summer long! Build your own burger at the brand-new Altitude Burgers, or feast on Mediterranean cuisine at the new Lakeside Grill. Cool down at Glacier Bar with ice-cold beer, frozen drinks and specialty cocktails or satisfy any craving for sweets at Edy's Ice Cream Parlor. There are even a few Electric Ocean drink booths scattered around the park. Leap and I shared a fruity Electric Lemonade with vodka. (You can also get it with tequila or rum, or even request a nonalcoholic option for the tadpoles!)

Electric Ocean offers a super cool way to experience the marine park in a whole new light with the whole family. Are you excited to "sea" what's happening at Electric Ocean? Have you experienced these new glowing experiences? What's your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
