Summary
You know the Frog Family can't resist a special event or festival at any of the Orlando theme parks! SeaWorld Orlando is one of our favorite places to check out limited-time shows and exclusive offerings because it always splashes up something truly out of the ordinary. SeaWorld does such a toadally terrific job of highlighting its ocean theme. That's why we're excited to share that SeaWorld Orlando is hosting Electric Ocean on select nights from May 27 to Sept. 5, 2022, with more fun than ever before!
Hop To

Our favorite part about this event is that it truly brings SeaWorld alive at night with gorgeous, glowing decor and interactive excitement. What better way to enjoy the park outside under the setting sun? We had so much fun grooving on the dance floor and enjoying the colorful bioluminescence that illuminated the park. Leap and Tad were even able to hop right onto Mako just as the sun was setting and were treated to a frogtastic view!
Don't worry ... there's plenty to enjoy all day long, but many of Electric Ocean's main events take place as the sun goes down, from 5:45 p.m. to park close. We're here to give you the latest and greatest details on SeaWorld's summer celebration, Electric Ocean.
Electric Ocean Dates
Keep an eye out! Electric Ocean varies between taking place daily and on weekends only. Generally, the park closes at 10 p.m., but on select nights, it may only stay open until 9 p.m. (typically Sundays) or later at 11 p.m. (specifically over the Fourth of July weekend). Be sure to check the calendar before your visit to make sure you don't miss out on any of the fun! Electric Ocean is taking place on the following nights in 2022:
- May 27-29
- June 3-5, 10-12, 17-30
- July 1-31
- Aug. 1-7, 12-14, 19-21, 26-28
- Sept. 2-5
Electric Ocean Exclusive Entertainment
NEW! Ignite 360
See the sea in the skies with SeaWorld Orlando's very own fireworks extravaganza! Fireworks inspired by under-the-sea beauty and color ignite the sky for your viewing pleasure. That's not all — fountains, music, lasers and fire combine to produce a spectacle that is sure to captivate your senses. Fireworks can be seen from all over the park, including Bayside Stadium, the Waterfront and the Orca Encounter Pathway. However, if you want the full experience, the dancing fountains and lasers are best viewed from the stadium.
That being said, because the bridge across the lagoon closes at 8 p.m., you will need to walk counter-clockwise back around the entire park to reach the exit. If you know your tired froggy feet won't be able to handle that, opt for the waterfront viewing area. Showtimes vary by day so be sure to check the park hours and experience times for the day of your visit!
Club Sea Glow
Be sure to pack your dancing shoes when you visit Electric Ocean! Dance the night away from 7:30 p.m. to park close (weather permitting) at Bayside Stadium. This family-friendly "dance club" environment hosts a world-class DJ and impressive performers that embody colorful ocean vibes. The DJ mixes music for all ages, making it easy to dance and sing along to — adult frogs croaked along to JLo's "Let's Get Loud," while the tadpoles danced to "Baby Shark." Leap and I switched between getting down with the tadpoles and fellow aquatic life on the dance floor and relaxing on the stadium seats. Our webbed feet really enjoyed the break! We also loved watching the various entertainment acts that populated the dance floor, such as the energetic Electric Jumpers.
Rescue Tails and NEW! Rescue Tails: Night Vision
Rescue Tails is an educational show that introduces you to many of the park's rescued animals, including birds, primates, reptiles and more! You'll learn all about their stories and SeaWorld's commitment to animal care and rescue.
Plus, new this year is Rescue Tails: Night Vision! Once the sun starts to set, you can meet raccoons, opossum, owls and other magnificent creatures of the night. (Note that some animals — such as the adorable fox, Disco — make an appearance at both shows!) Catch both of these amazing presentations at the Seaport Theater, which is just a short hop away from the park entrance!
Club Electric Current
At this all-ages dance party right across from the Seaport Theater, a hoppin' host will get the celebrations started early with hot music and dancing at The Waterfront. This is a great place to have some fun and get your body moving if your little froggy legs can't make it to the bigger dance party across the lake at 7:30 p.m. (though it continues on even after the Club Sea Glow party starts!).
Elmo Rocks
Elmo is forming his own rock 'n' roll band with his friends after their favorite band cancels its concert. Watch Elmo, Zoe, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Bert and Ernie go through auditions and rehearsals until they perfect their new band, The Rockin' Elmo Band. Expect lots of music and dancing at Nautilus Theater!
Chick-fil-A Beach Clean Up
Head on over to the Key West area of the park where you can help clean up the beach by finding buried items and using them to create a beautiful work of art. Tadpoles are sure to love this interactive activity!
Fourth of July Weekend Celebration
On Independence Day, even the ocean is celebrating! Electric Ocean's "Ignite 360" will feature a patriotic grand finale in honor of the holiday. Head on over to SeaWorld July 1 through 4 to get in on all the festive celebrations hoppening Fourth of July weekend!
All of the summer shows listed above come with your SeaWorld Orlando ticket, but special seating (and even an animal meet and greet!) can be reserved at an additional cost if your family is leapin' to experience one in particular. These upgrades include an Elmo Rocks VIP Seating Package, Rescue Tails Animal Meet & Greet, Ignite 360 Fireworks Private Viewing Happy Hour and Fourth of July & Ignite 360 Fireworks Seating.
