Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting theme park news around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and other theme parks.
Here Are This Week’s Theme Park Highlights:
- Everything is awesome, indeed! LEGOLAND Florida is bringing THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD to its park in spring of 2019. The Quest for Chi will be transformed into a new LEGO MOVIE boat ride in addition to two new rides, character meet-and-greets and a fun playscape. Lily and I *demand* to meet Princess Unikitty ASAP. If you need a last dose of chi, hop to it by May 29, when the Quest for Chi closes.
- An evolution is taking place at Universal Studios Hollywood as Jurassic Park — The Ride faces extinction to make way for a new Jurassic World attraction. Get your last ride in on the original before Sept. 3, and get excited for this all-new iteration featuring more dinos, awesome scenery and state-of-the-art technology than ever before!
- The moment I've been waiting for my entire froggin' life has arrived! New Character Couture packages are now available at Walt Disney World ... or as I like to call it, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for ADULTS! Stylists will transform you with a hair and makeup look inspired by the character of your choice, perfect for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or just a fun day at the parks.
- SeaWorld San Diego's newest coaster made its debut to the public this week. Electric Eel offers multiple launch experiences (both forward and backward!) as well as 60 mph speeds, twists and turns. Daredevil Tad can't wait to hop on!
- Did you hear the news? Mickey's Fun Wheel will now be Pixar Pal-A-Round at Disneyland's Pixar Pier, opening next month. The reimagining of the classic ride will feature characters on each gondola, including our latest faves, Miguel and Hector from “Coco.” Which Pixar character are you most excited to see?
That’s it for the theme park news this week! Have a great weekend.
Hoppy planning!
