As you might expect, everyone's favorite sisters, Anna and Elsa, are quite popular. When our little "Frozen" fan, Lily, saw "Frozen II" and heard that Anna and Elsa had new outfits and hairdos at the Disneyland Resort, she couldn't wait to go meet them and talk to them about their new adventures since her last visit. While fans always line up to meet the sisters from Arendelle, the release of "Frozen II" has put them at the top of the must-see list. No doubt you'll want to meet them, too, so here's how to meet Anna and Elsa at Disneyland!
First of all, Anna and Elsa aren't in Disneyland Park. (Although we can't wait to see them in the new Magic Happens Parade at Disneyland beginning Feb. 28, 2020!) These two sisters are waiting to meet you at Disney California Adventure Park. That's the park where "Frozen" fans can also catch Frozen — Live at the Hyperion. You can meet them at Anna & Elsa's Royal Welcome at the Character Close-Up in Hollywood Land in the Disney Animation Building. That's them in their hoppin' new outfits! We love your frogtastic green dress, Anna! Ribbit, ribbit!
How to Meet Anna and Elsa at Disneyland Resort
If you want to meet Anna and Elsa at Disney California Adventure, they are available from park opening until about 30 minutes before park closing. Be sure to check the schedule for changes. You no longer need to acquire a FASTPASS to visit the sisters of Arendelle, but the line is longer than usual. Everyone wants to see their new clothes (and backdrop) from"Frozen II!" Don't worry: If you are a fan of the original "Frozen," you can still catch the original story in Frozen — Live at the Hyperion around the corner.
Disney Animation is a Disney California Adventure hidden gem. While you are waiting to meet Anna and Elsa, you might want to take an art class at Animation Academy or hop into the Sorcerer's Workshop and the Beast's Library. You can also meet the toadally awesome Crush at Turtle Talk. We saw many family members holding the spot in line to meet Anna and Elsa while others hopped off to explore. We waited an hour to meet Anna and Elsa, which meant there was plenty of time to explore the other things to do in the building.
A cast member gave us a free "Frozen II" activity packet while we waited! We love free souvenirs at Disneyland, but we don't expect those free packets to stick around long (kind of like snow in summer!).
Experiencing Anna and Elsa's Royal Welcome
We absolutely love meeting the sisters, especially Lily, and one of the most awesome things about Anna and Elsa's Royal Welcome is that the sisters usually meet their guests together. This makes for awesome photo ops and more spontaneous conversations with the duo — especially chatty Anna!
Meeting Olaf and Kristoff at Disneyland
Do you want to meet a snowman? For the first time in forever, Olaf is now sometimes joining Anna and Elsa. You can look for Olaf in the Disneyland app. Click on his name and it will give you the hours of that day's appearances. Be sure to allow yourself enough time in line to catch him. Sometimes Kristoff may join in the fun. But he's often hanging back with Sven, letting the sisters handle all their royal duties.
Finding Anna and Elsa at Disneyland Park
Even though Elsa and Anna only meet guests at Disney California Adventure, you can still catch some "Frozen" fun at Disneyland Park. As mentioned, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven will be joining the all-new Magic Happens Parade! Anna, Elsa and Olaf both appear on a float during the holidays at Disneyland in A Christmas Fantasy Parade.
Look for views of Arendelle, including the stately castle where Anna and Elsa grew up, Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Elsa’s mountaintop ice palace among the scenes in the Storybook Land Canal Boats. When you're hopping down Main Street, U.S.A. take some time to enjoy the Frozen-themed enchanted window outside the Emporium.
All in all, there is no better time to meet Anna and Elsa at Disneyland Resort and experience all of the "Frozen" fun! Did you know your favorite froggy friends have discount Disneyland Resort tickets, as well as discount Los Angeles and Disneyland hotel stays? That makes it even easier to just "let it go" and plan that magical trip!
