Overview of SoFi Stadium

With its innovative design and modern amenities, SoFi Stadium has quickly become a symbol of Los Angeles culture. It opened its doors in 2020 as the home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers teams. Designed by HKS Architects and operated by the Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District (LASED), the stadium features two 270-degree 4K video boards that provide a unique experience for fans attending an event there. In 2022, SoFi Stadium was the site of the Super Bowl, and the Los Angeles Rams won in their home stadium! Taylor Swift played six sold-out shows at SoFi in August 2023.

SoFi Stadium boasts high levels of energy efficiency thanks to its sustainable design principles, which include solar PV panels on the roof that generate energy from sunlight, LED lighting systems, water recycling systems, high levels of insulation and permeable paving to help reduce stormwater runoff from parking lots surrounding the venue. All these measures combine together to help make SoFi Stadium one of the most energy-efficient stadiums in history — something that helps combat climate change while providing an unforgettable experience.

SoFi Stadium Capacity

SoFi Stadium has a capacity of 70,240 people for football games and up to 100,000 people for concerts and other events. That which means getting in and out is a bigger deal for concert goers — but any visitor will want to brush up on parking, stadium rules and more before attending.

Where Is SoFi Stadium Located?

SoFi Stadium - Chargers game, empty stadium

SoFi Stadium is an architectural marvel located at 1001 Stadium Dr, Inglewood, CA 90301. It's in the heart of Hollywood Park, an entertainment district just 3 miles from LAX and 9 miles from Downtown LA. It's a across the street from the Kia Forum and close to the new Intuit Dome.

Public transportation is a great way to get to the stadium, with the nearest Metro rail station located just a few minutes away from the venue. Head to the Metro site for advice on taking Metro on game day. SoFi Stadium offers several free shuttle buses that run from nearby locations throughout Inglewood during events at no cost. This allows fans to get dropped off right outside the venue so they don’t have to worry about navigating through busy traffic or finding parking spots before kickoff or showtime.

You can Go Metro to SoFi Stadium by taking the C Line to the Hawthorne/Lennox Station and riding the free SoFi Stadium Shuttle from Hawthorne/Lennox Station to the stadium. The express shuttle operates between the Hawthorne/Lennox Station and SoFi Stadium only during SoFi’s pre-, regular and post-season NFL games. It may run for big concerts. Even though the SoFi Stadium Shuttle is free, fares still apply for the regular Metro bus, rail service and special event parking fees at Metro Park & Ride lots. This option is best for fans coming from the south and east.

The following Metro Bus lines offer service to SoFi Stadium all year long:

  • Line 115 (Manchester Av)
  • Line 117 (Century Bl)
  • Line 212 (La Brea Av/Prairie Av)

Fans can also take the recently opened Metro K Line to the Downtown Inglewood Station and ride a free shuttle bus to SoFi Stadium.

GTrans offers Sunday express bus service to SoFi Stadium out of Harbor Gateway Transit Center during NFL home games. Visit ridegtrans.com/line/7x. It is $4 round-trip (subject to change) and only available on Sundays.

Here's a Metro and GTrans TAP Pro Tip: Download the TAP app or load your TAP card with round-trip fare before the game and avoid long lines at TAP vending machines after the game.

Guests using rideshare services, taxis and buses can be dropped off on the northbound curb lane on Kareem Court. Drivers must access Kareem Court via westbound Pincay Drive from Crenshaw Blvd and follow instructions from traffic control officers. The designated pickup will be located on Kareem Court and Manchester Boulevard.

SoFi Stadium Parking

Getting to SoFi Stadium takes some advance planning, but there are plenty of parking options available for guests. Plan extra time to arrive to your event.

Parking On-Site at SoFi Stadium

There are a total of 16,000 parking spots available onsite for guests with valid event tickets or credentials, with costs varying depending on the event and lot. Book parking in advance to save money (up to 50 percent off standard rates). People who purchase on-site should bring a credit card. No cash accepted. Guests should plan for traffic and arrive early to ensure they find a spot close to their section when parking on-site. Parking is pretty pricy at So-Fi. You might spend $100 to park at SoFi, but you can save a lot by parking in an off-site lot and walking.

For sports games, the lot opens four to five hours before kickoff. Gates open two to three hours before kickoff. For concerts, the doors may open earlier. Do your research before your event. When Taylor Swift played, the lots opened at noon for the evening show and anyone without a ticket was asked to leave the lots once the show began. So there may be different rules for each event. Here is the SoFi Stadium parking page, which has a parking zone map.

Tailgating

Tailgating is permitted for select events at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. You can reserve in advance for designated tailgate areas in the Pink parking zone near the stadium (or reserve upon arrival per availability). There is a limit of one tailgating parking permit per person, per vehicle. Guests may not purchase multiple parking permits to expand their tailgating footprint. For additional rules, visit SoFi Stadium's website.

Remote Parking

Park & Ride Lots that connect to Hawthorne/Lennox Station. The following are special event parking rates for NFL regular season home games:

  • Hawthorne/Lennox Station – $25 pre-sale, $30 on-site
  • Crenshaw Station – $3 on-site
  • Aviation Station – $10 on-site
  • Norwalk Station – FREE (weekend games only)
  • Redondo Beach Station – FREE
  • Harbor Gateway Transit Center – $3 (Sunday games only)

Plan ahead. Purchase a parking pass for Hawthorne/Lennox. The presale ends seven hours before kickoff or when the lot is sold out, whichever comes first. You can also reserve remote parking and shuttle service. Shuttle buses leave every 15 minutes.

What to Know Before You Go to SoFi Stadium

Here are some tips and tidbits you should know before you go to an event at SoFi Stadium:

  • Cashless Transactions: Leave your bills at home. Cashless transactions are the preferred method of payment, with debit and credit cards accepted at all points of sale. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also accepted.
  • Bag Policy: All clear totes must not exceed 12" x 6" x 12." You can instead bring a 1-gallon resealable clear plastic storage bag or a small clutch. The small clutch may not exceed 4" x 6" and that one does not need to be clear. The clutch may have a handle or strap. Bags are subject to inspection upon entry into the stadium. Only items approved by the NFL are allowed in the stadium. Leave behind your purse, backpack, briefcase, binoculars case, camera case, totes, tinted bags, fanny pack or mesh bag. You may not bring coolers, cans, bottles or any other containers.
  • Security: To ensure a safe and secure experience for guests, all attendees must be scanned with metal detectors or wanded at the entrance. Re-entry is not permitted after leaving the stadium.
  • Free Wi-Fi: Hop on the #SoFiStadium network for Wi-Fi access.
  • Dining Options: Themed to areas around Los Angeles, you can find many options such as Fairfax Ave. (burger and deli favorites), Olvera St. (Mexican fare) or Sawtelle Blvd. (pan-Asian flavors). These LA street-themed food locations offer vegetarian, gluten-free and kosher options. These also only accept cashless payments.
  • Autograph Policy: Fans are to refrain from coming in close contact with players. Autographs, meet & greets and photo opportunities are not available. For fan and player safety, a 15-foot buffer is in effect.
  • Bring ear protection. SoFi is a very loud stadium, especially for concerts. If you forget, you can pick up free foam earplugs at Guest Relations.
  • Allow extra time to park, get in and find your seat. This stadium is very compartmentalized and huge, so it may take extra time to navigate around and in it.
