Top 5 Pavilions in Epcot's World Showcase

by Tad on April 26, 2012

When my parents asked me to pick my five favorite countries in Epcot's World Showcase I turned right around and asked them who they love more - me or my little sister, Lily. I mean, how can I name just five? The food, the entertainment, the architecture, the KidCot Fun Stops and, for my mom, the shopping...they are all VERY impressive! China Pavilion at EpcotSo here they are, my favorite pavilions in Epcot's World Showcase...

1. China Pavilion

There are so many things I love about the China Pavilion...After I grab a bite to eat at Lotus Blossom Cafe, I can cool off during Reflections of China. The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats are amazing (watch the video), but not nearly as amazing as it is to meet Mulan. (She's so pretty.) And I love that even on really busy days at Epcot, China doesn't seem that crowded. (Video: Sights & Sounds of the China Pavilion.)

Serveur Amusant in France Pavilion at Epcot2. France Pavilion

If the only thing in the France Pavilion were the daily performances of Serveur Amusant, it would still be one of my favorite countries in World Showcase. The video doesn't do it justice, but watch this and try to keep your mouth from gaping. But that's not the only thing that France has to offer...there are the beautiful gardens and replica of the Eiffel Tower, the yummy snacks from Boulangerie Patisserie and the Character Greetings with Marie, Belle, Beast and Princess Aurora. (Video: Sights & Sounds of the France Pavilion.)

3. Morocco Pavilion

My dad teases me that the only reason Morocco Mo'Rockin in Morocco Pavilion at Epcotmade this list is the belly dancer during Mo'Rockin. (Watch the video.) I'll admit that she is the #1 reason, but certainly not the only reason. Playing hide and seek behind the columns in the Fez House and (quietly) in the gift shops, meeting Jasmine and Aladdin is always a hit, and eating tasty and different food from Tangierine Cafe are just a few more. (Video: Sights & Sounds of the Morocco Pavilion.)

4. Japan Pavilion

Japan Pavilion at EpcotJapanese Taiko drummers, Miyuki (the only female candy artist of her kind), koi ponds and monkey puzzle trees, the exciting chefs who spin their knives right at your table at Teppan Edo...are you kidding me? The Japan Pavilion is beyond cool. Oh, I almost forgot - Japan has some of the greatest spots to get out of the heat at Epcot. Go toward the back of the pavilion and you'll find an amazing art exhibit that is completely air-conditioned. (Video: Sights & Sounds of the Japan Pavilion.)

5. Mexico Pavilion

We always start at Canada when we tour World Showcase, soMexico Pavilion at Epcot the Mexico Pavilion is our final stop. Lily and I get the last stamp in our World Showcase Passport at the KidCot Fun Stop and take some time to re-group in the air-conditioning. My parents seem to really enjoy the Margaritas, but we all enjoy listening to Mariachi Cobre. Did you know that they have been playing at Epcot since opening day in 1982? (Video: Sights & Sounds of the Mexico Pavilion.)

Are your favorites different than mine?
