Go Straight to the Gate!
The famous Sears Tower – originally built in 1973 – now called the “Willis Tower”, stands some 1450 feet above the streets of Chicago. Located in the downtown business district (also called the “Loop”), this breathtaking experience is a really cool way to see the city! Like nothing else, you’ll be standing in a glass enclosed ledge extended 4 feet out from the building. Gaze down at the streets far below. It’s like a balcony only better. But don’t worry, this “ledge” can withstand 4 tons of pressure. Housed in the tallest building in the western hemisphere, the observation deck is the highest in the U.S. Located on the 103rd floor, you’ll ride up in some of the world’s fastest elevators – that’s a ride unto itself! On a clear day, you’ll be able to see 4 surrounding states. If it’s an exceptionally windy day in Chicago, you may feel the building sway a few inches from side to side. Again, don’t worry it’s built that way since Chicago isn’t called the Windy City for nothin’!
New museum-quality exhibits and interactive technology highlight the iconic tower and celebrate Chicago’s rich history and culture through captivating visuals. Your trip to Skydeck Chicago is an unforgettable experience.
Anytime of day is a great time to visit, but 1 hour prior to sunset is a popular time to see the city and surrounding areas as the sun goes down.
233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL, 60606. Entrance to the Skydeck is at Franklin St. (east side of building).
