My birthday is coming up. And I’m so excited to be spending a week in the MOST magical place on Earth, the Walt Disney World® Resort! Today I’m so excited to share with you some of the things that I’ll be doing on my upcoming trip!
Whether you are big or small, your birthday is an important day -- Disney World knows how to celebrate it! Because Disney World is a place where everyone can be a kid, I can't think of any place I'd rather mark the occasion of turning one year older. So let’s jump right into the many ways to celebrate!
With celebration pins at Disney World, it is impossible not to celebrate something. From anniversaries to birthdays and even a fill-in-the-blank option, the possibilities for celebrating are literally endless. Wearing a pin, especially a birthday pin, will get you plenty of "Happy Birthdays!" from cast members (and speaking characters) as well as other park guests!
I’m heading to the nearest guest services to pick up my pin and I’m going to wear that thing proudly.
Let them eat cake
Eating dessert with every meal is important when you are at Disney! When it’s your birthday, it is mandatory that you eat cake ... cupcakes … or at least some kind of sweet treat. Of course, you can satisfy this quota with some cake-like confections at a variety of restaurants across Disney property. You can even get some complimentary birthday desserts by letting cast members know as you arrive at table service restaurants. But this trip, we’re going all out! We’ve ordered a beautiful custom cake to celebrate with! The cost isn’t too outrageous, and hey, it’s not just my birthday -- it’s also my mother’s birthday! Cake is what we’ll be eating! To order a special cake like me, all you have to do is call the cake hotline at 407-827-2253 at least 48 hours in advance to have the cake delivered to your table at any of the table service restaurants (make sure you already have your Advance Dining Reservations).
Party
Disney World is like one nonstop party! Why not take advantage of all that decorating for yourself? I am thinking of the parks as my venue to a weeklong party! I plan on enjoying my favorite rides, attractions, and shows. Swing by Downtown Disney to enjoy the dining, nightlife, and other festive attractions, and soak in the atmosphere! Raglan Road is a great place to celebrate -- you can dig into authentic Irish cuisine and whoop it up with the award-winning dancers!
Do something special
I say do something exquisite on your special day. For me, I’m making a fun list of things that I want to try for the first time. Maybe I’ll get a massage at the Grand Floridian. Maybe I’ll eat something new. I for sure will be doing some of my favorite things -- like eating with all of my favorite princesses (yes, I am an adult, but I never will grow up). Whatever exquisite means to you, do it!
Surprises keep it fun!
There are always great surprises at Disney World. Looking for those moments of sheer serendipitous joy is something that I try to do every time I’m in the parks. From cast members honoring your celebration, shout-outs from the characters and special experiences, Disney knows how to cover the magic. You can help your loved one celebrate their special day in the parks by arranging a little magic of your own. Maybe you’ll pull out the big guns and order a little in-room flower/goodie basket, maybe you’ll make extra special surprise dinner plans or maybe you’ll give them a gift that will remind them of their special day. There are so many ways to surprise your loved one on their birthday!
Now it’s time for a little comment section sharing! This is my absolute favorite part of writing articles on Disney World! Share with us what you have done to make someone's birthday extra special at Disney World!
Until next time, keep it magical!
