It's time for the Frog Family's weekly roundup of Disney and Orlando theme park tidbits from the interwebs.
We love comments! Drop us a line below if you have something to share.
This week’s highlights:
-
Zagat has named Victoria & Albert’s at Disney's Grand Floridian one of 15 U.S. restaurants that "embody the essence of their city." It’s in esteemed company alongside the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York and Spago in L.A. Congrats to the staff, but I am guessing it's going to be even harder to get a reservation.
-
While Universal has yet to confirm what is going in the space of the former International Food & Film Festival restaurant next to The Simpsons Ride, the resort appears to be hiring greeters for it.
-
Universal announced Big Time Rush will kick off its Summer Concert Series June 8. The rest of the lineup is sure to follow.
Social media was all atwitter this week with the announcement of a ‘Finding Nemo’ sequel, with Ellen Degeneres reprising her role for ‘Finding Dory.’ Tad was happy to hear that Crush will be returning ... I think his exact words to me were, 'Dude, -- I mean, Dad -- it will be epic.'
- Behind the Thrills continues to track progress on SeaWorld’s Antarctica attraction, scheduled for a May opening.
- As mentioned a few weeks ago, this Saturday is the last day to catch Disney Channel Rocks! and the Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
-
The Disney Parks Blog introduced us to a member of the Guest Show Team at Downtown Disney who keeps the entertainment district tidy and entertains guests with art created solely from a broom and water.
-
Speaking of Downtown Disney, Mommy Frog shared some of her favorite things about it (shopping) as well as her (shopping) tips yesterday. My no. 1 tip: Take away your wife’s wallet before you head there! (Only kidding :))
-
My lovely wife and I are always up for trying new culinary creations, so we were excited to hear a new waterside eatery will be coming to Morocco at Epcot by year’s end. Spice Road Table will feature small Mediterranean plates and refreshments.
-
I always like to finish with something really good, and this definitely fits the bill! LEGOLAND is offering one day of free admission to active-duty members of the U.S. military, good any day this year.
That’s all for this week. Until next week, happy planning!
