Pop Century is one of Walt Disney World’s Value resorts – the most affordable category of hotels owned by Disney. This was my family's first time staying at a Value level resort, and here's what we thought about it.
Guest Rooms
Each guest room is 260 square feet, and with two adults and two young kids in our room, we found it clean and comfortable.
It would have been a little tight had it been all adults in the room but still doable if you're the type of family to only go back to the room to sleep.
Dining at Pop Century
Everything Pop is Pop Century Resort's food court and is open everyday from 7:30 a.m. until midnight.
With 3,000 guest rooms, the eating area is very large to accommodate the masses. For families traveling with young children, there is a kids area with toddler-size tables and chairs along with TVs set to the Disney Channel.
We may have had one each day we were there. Thank goodness our stay was only three nights long!
Pop Century is also located right next to Walt Disney World’s newest resort, Art of Animation. It was great having another food court option available for meal time.
Activities & Amenities
Pop Century is a bustling resort, and there are activities going on several times of the day. Games, dance parties, and arts and crafts time take place at the main pool - Hippy Dippy.
Pool-side movies are shown on a blow-up screen here at night too.
There's an arcade in Classic Hall (main building) and a small store attached to Everything Pop.
Pop Century has several pools on property - the main pool (Hippy Dippy), two smaller pools (a bowling pin-shaped pool in the 50s section and the computer monitor-shaped pool in the 90s section, which are usually quieter than Hippy Dippy), and a zero-entry toddler pool.
If you're looking for some quiet time poolside, I would recommend skipping Hippy Dippy and heading to the smaller pools.
Complimentary life jackets are available at each should you need them.
Transportation to and from Pop Century is via bus at the front of Classic Hall.
I know in my last post, I said we stay on site just so we don't have to rent a car, but we probably could have benefited from having one on our previous visit.
Pop Century is a large resort and can get very crowded if traveling during peak season. Wait times for a bus back to Pop Century from Magic Kingdom was approximately 45 minutes.
Final Thoughts
Pop Century is good choice for families on a budget. It's themed well and offers lots to see and do should you decide to take a break from the parks.
