Disneyland Resort is turning 70 this year, and you better believe the celebration is packed with extra pixie dust. Beyond the frogtastic new entertainment, decorations and snacks, there are a few can’t-miss interactive experiences to put you right in the magic — from unlocking secrets with a collectible key to lighting up the night with your MagicBand+. Here’s your guide to all the ways you can tap, touch and light up the park during the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration!

The Key to Disneyland 70th Anniversary
This brand-new, scavenger hunt-style experience lets you explore all nine lands of Disneyland Park while unlocking special effects with a magical souvenir key. The Key to Disneyland is a beautifully designed keepsake that unlocks interactions at nine special lock stations. Pop the key into each station to activate lights, sounds and land-specific effects. It’s like a park-wide treasure hunt. Complete the journey and get a prize at the end!
Key to Disneyland 70th Anniversary Cost & Where to Buy
You'll find the key and most of the Disneyland 70 merchandise at pretty much every large store on the property. The main locations are World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District and the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park. The Disneyland Key 70th price is $59.99, plus tax. If they sell out, keep checking, because they constantly restock.
Where to Find the Lock Stations:
- Main Street, U.S.A. – Inside the Disneyland Fire Station
- Adventureland – Adventureland Bazaar (over by Aladdin’s Lamp)
- New Orleans Square – Near La Mascarade d’Orleans
- Bayou Country – Outside Pooh Corner
- Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge – Across from Rise of the Resistance
- Frontierland – Wilderness Expeditions Wagon (near the entrance to Galaxy's Edge)
- Toontown – Across from Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
- Fantasyland – Fantasy Faire
- Tomorrowland – Near the exit of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
How to Receive Your Prize
Once you’ve visited all nine stations, head to the Mickey Topiary Finale station (near each park entrance tunnel) to unlock your prize. Hidden inside your key is one of nine randomly selected, limited edition commemorative pins representing one of the lands.
If you accidentally lock your pin back in the key, you can stick it back in the final topiary to release it again. If you never make it to all the stations before your trip ends, we have a hack for that. There is a tiny hole in the "D" handle. We've heard talk around the pond that you can stick a paper clip in it to release the pin.
These pins are not sold separately. Here are the themes:
- Partners Statue
- Gargoyle Sconce from The Haunted Mansion
- Pooh's "Hunny" Pot
- Space Mountain
- Jungle Cruise Boat
- Sleeping Beauty Castle
- Millennium Falcon
- Mickey's House
- Mark Twain Riverboat
Specific Pin Trading Rules
There is only one location inside the parks where you are able to trade your Key to Disneyland commemorative pins. And there are rules around how to trade. The pin trading is located right next to the entrance of Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland. Check out which pins are available with the cast member. You can only take a Key to Disneyland pin by trading another Key to Disneyland pin. If the pin that you are trying to trade in is already on the pin board, you can't trade that one. You can only trade if the pin you are trading in is not yet there. Keep checking back to see if your pin meets the criteria throughout your day.
MagicBand+ 70th Anniversary Interactive Activations
Got a MagicBand+? This is your time to shine. During the 70th Anniversary Celebration, your band adds some extra sparkle to your park day with glow, haptics and vibrations synced to entertainment and surprises throughout the park. Plus, there are MagicBand+ activation locations set throughout the entire Disneyland Park!
Where MagicBand+ Comes to Life
Here’s where to watch your MagicBand+ light up:
- Disneyland 70 Medallions — Throughout the Downtown Disney District, at the front of Disneyland Park and by Carthay Circle in Disney California Adventure, you will find giant Disneyland 70 medallions featuring different characters. Approach the medallions and wave your MagicBand+. You'll feel special vibrations in your band and hear character-specific sounds and music at each location.
- Nighttime Spectaculars — During shows such as "Wondrous Journeys" and "World of Color," and even during "Tapestry of Happiness" and "Paint the Night parade," your band syncs with the music and effects.
MagicBand+ Activation Locations
On top of buzzing and lighting up along with your Disneyland day, there are actually some fun interactive MagicBand+ activations at some of the Disneyland opening day attractions throughout the park! Each one does something a little different, but most of them print out a toadally cute commemorative card for you to take home.
There are two different messages for the bottom of the card. If you are using a MagicBand+ linked to a Magic Key, your card will say "Valued Magic Key Holder." If you are using a MagicBand+ connected to a park ticket, your card will say "Our Special 70th Anniversary Guest."
Here are the attractions being celebrated and where to find the activations:
- Main Street Cinema — Main Street, U.S.A., at Tilly's Booth
- Jungle Cruise — Adventureland, at the Skipper Lockers
- The Golden Horseshoe, Mark Twain Riverboat and the Disneyland Railroad — Frontierland, at Silver Spur Supplies on the side of the Golden Horseshoe
- Autopia — Tomorrowland, across the ride entrance (coming soon)
- Snow White, Mad Tea Party, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Peter Pan's Flight and King Arthur Carousel — Fantasyland, under the archway next to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Make sure to charge your MagicBand+ before you get to the parks!
Interactive Merchandise
One of the standout collectibles from Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration is the interactive Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket. This bucket features a classic Mickey design with interactive elements such as blinking eyes and head movement, triggered by voice prompts. Saying phrases like "Hey Mickey" can activate the big cheese, and he may blink his eyes, turn his head from side to side and respond with phrases such as "Hiya, I'm Mickey Mouse" and "Let's Celebrate."
The Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket is available at various popcorn carts across Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney District, but supplies are limited. Be sure to grab one early in the day! Check out our Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration merchandise guide for all you need to know about every collection!
Special Magic Shots
If you're looking to add a little extra magic to your photos, don't miss the new Disneyland 70th Anniversary Magic Shots now available through Disney PhotoPass! You'll find them near the main entrance of Disneyland Park and in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, making them the perfect way to kick off (or wrap up) your magical day.
Even better? You can unlock Disney PhotoPass Lenses, a set of interactive AR photo effects that transform your selfies with whimsical overlays, character cameos and other playful surprises. Access them with PhotoPass+ One Day or if you’ve purchased a Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Premier Pass. Did you know you can purchase one photo or a group of photos without Multi Pass or PhotoPass+ One Day? Head to the PhotoPass Concierge right outside of Disneyland Park to inquire. However, if you want more than one photo Mutli Pass or PhotoPass+ One Day are going to give you the better deal.
Celebrate at Your Pace
The best part of all of this? These experiences are available all day, so you can explore at your own pace. No Lightning Lanes, showtimes or set schedules required. Whether you're unlocking a secret pin with your key or glowing along with the castle fireworks, these interactive elements make you feel like a part of the celebration, not just a spectator. So grab your MagicBand+, pick up your key and get ready to explore the park like never before. Happy 70th, Disneyland! Here’s to decades of magic and a whole lot of new memories!
