Summary

Bibbidi, bobbidi, boo! We are so excited that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is back at Disneyland Park. Princesses and knights ages 3 to 12 can enjoy magical transformations again with the help of the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices. Reservations are open now. We've hopped over so a certain froggy could undergo a princess transformation.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland

The Royal Treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland

Hear ye! Hear ye! Ladies and gentlemen. Calling all aspiring princesses and knights to Fantasyland! If you are looking for that magical Disney experience that allows your tadpoles to jump into the story to save the day or to become the beauty of the ball, then hop into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland for a royal makeover.

The Royal Treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland-Girl gets nails paintedBibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a salon in Fantasyland that gives magical makeovers to children ages 3 to 12. Boys can choose from knight packages, while girls can choose from a variety of princess packages that give them all the doting attention and pampering you know they deserve. But Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is happy to give any child the treatment they want, no matter their gender. The packages range in price and what comes with them, but no matter which package you choose, your tadpole is sure to feel toadally special.

Our toddler, Lily, is all about princesses these days. She longs to be part of their world. She cannot wait to be old enough to undergo her transformation as a princess at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. We've hopped along to watch our friends and cousins have the Bobbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience, and Lily now has glittering stars in her eyes as she dreams of when it will be her turn to sit in that seat and spin around for the royal reveal in the magical mirror. I will probably have her wait until she is between the ages of 4 and 8, so she is able to sit still, have the patience to pose for pictures and be old enough to remember the experience. I know our 7-year-old Frog Family friend will treasure this day forever!

How to Make Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Reservations

Making a reservation is as easy as waving a wand and saying “Bibbidi, bobbidi, boo!” You can make a reservation up to 60 days in advance through the Disneyland app or on the Disneyland site. The boutique accepts walk-ins if there’s availability. We do expect demand to be high for a few months as so many kids have been waiting to be transformed during the closure.

You’ll need a credit card to make a reservation, but you will not be charged until you check in. There is a $10 no-show fee. Be sure to cancel 24 hours in advance if you change your plans. Appointment times range from park opening until the last appointment of the day at 6 p.m. The boutique is open later than the salon for those last-minute needs. We hear some princesses tend to lose their shoes late at night! (Cough, cough! Cinderella!)

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland Packages and Prices

The Royal Treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland-$60 dresses

Your aspiring princesses or knights will have their own Fairy Godmother's Apprentice to style and create their new look. When you check in, your tadpole will choose the hairstyle, accessories and colors they would like. Boys can go for a gallant look or rock a mohawk!

Then, you will pay for your package. Check-in is at The Enchanted Chamber Store. That’s where you can see all of the dresses, in case you need to get a dress or if one comes with your package. They do range in price: You’ll see $60 gowns, deluxe $100 gowns and Princess Signature Dress Collection gowns for $350! You’ll be able to select one that goes with your package (if included) or purchase it separately. There are more choices than are on display, so look through the racks. Our princesses always arrive in their own princess dresses. That’s a wise money-saving tip if you own your own dress or can find it elsewhere at a discount. We have even more money-saving tips to share later!

All packages will have tax added at the point of purchase. You can get an annual passholder or Disney credit card discount. Keep in mind that prices and offered packages are subject to change.

Here are the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique packages and starting prices (subject to change and tax will be added):

Packages for "Frozen" lovers include:

  • The Disney Frozen Crown Package ($119.95) includes Anna or Elsa hairstyling with a braided hairpiece, sparkling snowflake hair accessories, makeup, princess sash, princess cinch sack, nail polish and a 12-inch Olaf plush toy.
  • The Disney Frozen Package ($179.95) comes with the same items in The Disney Frozen Crown Package, plus an Anna or Elsa dress and a face gem.

Packages designed for knights include:

  • The Knight Package ($19.95) includes hairstyling with gel, and a mighty sword and shield.
  • The Deluxe Knight Package ($79.95) includes a Knight costume, hairstyling with gel, and a mighty sword and shield.

For an additional cost, you can pick up any other necessary accessories to complete your look. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique store sells shoes, crowns, wands, T-shirts, spirit jerseys, accessories and more. Costume availability may vary and is not guaranteed. Keepsake portraits may not be available after 4 p.m.

When Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reopened after the pandemic we noticed that the least expensive package — Crown — was no longer offered. However, we recently arrived to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with a princess in her own dress (and she did not need a shirt). The store was running low on T-shirts that come with the Carriage package anyway, so we were able to get the hidden Crown package without the shirt and save money! It's worth asking about since it brought the price down to about $80 (plus you can apply Magic Key discounts)!

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Experience

Getting a Royal Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland - Salon

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience is something truly unique and magical. It definitely makes for hoppy memories. Your tadpole will be doted on and made to feel like a brave knight or a princess.

The Royal Treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland-Choices of hairstyles

When you arrive (preferably five minutes early but not before) with freshly-brushed hair and clean nails, you may check in at The Enchanted Chamber at the base of the castle just across from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Make sure your child has been free of any scalp or skin conditions within the past 30 days. You’ll child will pick a hairstyle and accessories. Options may include a colored braid, bun, bow, flower, colored ponytail or a tiara. This is where you can choose your gown if it’s included, or purchase one if you need one. Dressings rooms are located at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. You’ll meet your Fairy Godmother's Apprentice, who will take you to the salon (allow you to change if necessary) and seat you.

The Royal Treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at DisneylandGirl gets makeup applied

They will put a cape around you to protect your clothes, give you a face shield and spray water on your hair. After you get your hair done, your Fairy Godmother's Apprentice will apply nail polish, makeup and a face gem. Talk about being pampered! You’ll get to choose colors as you go and your items will be added to the swag bag to take home for future fun! The knight packages will be more simple (and budget-friendly) without makeup and nails.

Once you are done, you are ready for your Fairy Godmother's Apprentice to sprinkle a little magic. You’ll use the face shield while they wave their magic wand and give you a sparkling, glittery finish! You’ll remove your protective cape, put on your sash and show off your look to your family and friends. Instead of sparkle, knights are showered in dragon-scale confetti for bravery.

The Royal Treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland-The big mirror reveal

Now it’s time for the big reveal. The birds will pull back the curtains so you may see your reflection in the magical mirror to see the fairest of them all! You can practice all your princess poses or brave knight faces. It’s toadally fun to see the results of your magical transformation! Be aware that the mirror only can stay open for a short amount of time and then it closes. Be ready to snap those pics!

Then, you’ll hop out of the chair, accept your cinch sack of goodies and sash (and hair and makeup care instruction sheet) and go off into Fantasyland, hoppily ever after. You can choose a princess sash or a birthday sash!

Meeting Princesses at Disneyland

Getting a Royal Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland - Meeting Cinderella

If you love princesses, you’ll no doubt want to follow the path and hop over to the nearby Fantasy Faire. That’s a special part of Fantasyland that is devoted to princesses and the telling of their stories. There, you can usually meet a princess and perhaps one of her friends under the umbrella. Inside the Royal Hall, you can meet three princesses. They are usually a surprise! They will be so excited to meet another princess. Chances are, they will be admiring your hair, nails, dress and makeup. Your princess might get a few twirls in as well

Getting a Royal Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland - Tiana

We saw Tiana, who admired the sparkly nails. We love Tiana and her fabulous full green dress. Tiana is very frog-friendly and speaks our language — ribbit, ribbit!

Getting a Royal Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland - Rapunzel

Find out more about meeting princesses in Lily’s Royally Good Guide for Meeting Princesses at Disneyland. You can also catch a humorous and toadally silly retelling of a princess story (“Rapunzel” or “Beauty and the Beast”) at the Royal Theatre. After the show, if you linger in the theatre and make your way to the right-hand side, a princess just might come out to meet you after the show!

As Sienna was twinning with Rapunzel, we found out where we could meet her and Flynn Rider later (they change locations from time to time.) We hopped over to Rapunzel and Flynn to say hi and chat about chameleon care.

While you are still in Fantasy Faire, you can twirl your way into Fairy Tale Treasures, where you can shop for dresses and accessories or get your tadpole’s picture taken!

On a separate visit, we had a morning appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. After visiting Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, we hopped over to brunch at Storytellers Café for some character dining. It was so nice to have all the characters come to us for photos while we ate, rather than waiting to meet them individually in the park. We loved capturing our princess looking her best.

Keepsake Portrait Packages at Disneyland

Getting a Royal Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland - Portrait Session

After meeting princesses, the next stop could be Fairy Tale Treasures for a photo shoot. No doubt you want to take photos of this whole experience. Your princess or knight will want to show off those good looks! You can hop in for a Keepsake Portrait Packages. These are truly special photo shoots that will help you capture the whole experience. Some Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique packages come with photos, but you can also purchase photos separately on your own if there is walk-in availability. If you choose a package that includes photos, make your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment before 4 p.m. The shop closes by 7 p.m. (check the hours in the Disneyland app).

The photographers do a toadally awesome job of posing your tadpole and providing just the right props. The photographer provided our little Rapunzel with a lantern and her chameleon pal, Pascal! You'll take pictures in a garden scene, with Cinderella's carriage (when we met Cinderella, she asked us if it still smelled like pumpkin!) and with the carriage horse!

Getting a Royal Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland - Lantern

You do not need a high-end Bobbidi Bobbidi Boutique package to get your photos taken. In fact, this is a great way to save money, and we frogs are always looking for ways to save some green! For a walk-up fee of about $34.95 (Magic Key discount available and prices subject to change), you can get many different poses. If you have many tadpoles in the same pictures, you pay one fee. If you want individual shots of each tadpole, you’ll pay the price per tadpole. FYI: if you want photos without even doing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you can always walk up. The price is $5 extra if you have not done Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique that day.

The Keepsake Portrait Package includes prints of three poses and digital downloads of all of the images taken. You'll get one pose in a 6x8 print and four 4x6 prints (two of each pose) in a folder. You can also scan the provided PhotoPass code into the Disneyland app to receive all of the digital images.

While we waited for the photos, more pixie dust was sprinkled as we were given a second opportunity to skip the line to meet princesses at the Royal Hall. This time Sienna got along just swimmingly with Ariel. When we emerged from meeting princesses, our photos were ready and what luck! More pixie dust — the photographers loved Sienna’s modeling shoot so much that they threw in a bonus pose. Talk about a magical day! You cannot expect these things, but you’ll be tickled by the Disney magic if it hoppens to you.

How to Save Money When Doing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Getting a Royal Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disneyland - Rapunzel at Castle

Even though this is a pricey experience at Disneyland, there are ways to make it fit your budget. You'll find a big range in prices for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique packages. Don’t worry: You can have just as magical an experience without breaking the bank! Our princess got the least expensive princess package. She arrived in her own Rapunzel princess dress and used a Magic Key discount for more savings. You can find used princess dresses at resale shops, garage sales and even online. Look for Disney Store sales! Sienna’s mom opted for the photo shoot without having to get a more expensive Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique package that comes with photos.

By getting The Carriage Package, wearing your own dress and doing the walk-in Keepsake Photo Package, you can saved about $50 to $300 over some of the other packages. That’s a lot of churro money left over!

If you do not wish to spend money on a photo shoot or portrait package, you can always use your own camera to take pictures in the park. Take advantage of the PhotoPass photographers around the parks to get professional photos in iconic spots, such as in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle or by the Sword in the Stone in Fantasyland. The wishing well makes for another great photo location for princesses. In fact, that's another good place to meet more princesses!

If you purchase Disney Genie+ that day, you’ll have unlimited downloads of PhotoPass photos and other toadally cool benefits starting at $25 per ticket, per day. Since one photo download is $14.95, it really pays to get all of the pics with Genie+. If you only want Genie+ for the photo downloads, only one person in the party needs to purchase it. Be sure to purchase Genie+ on your smartphone that same day, because if you decide the next day that you'd love to have those photos after all, you'll be paying full price!

Since you will need a Disneyland admission ticket to enter the park and attend the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you'll want to get the best deal possible on Disneyland tickets. You'll save the most money per day on multi-day tickets. In case you missed it, Undercover Tourist has hopped into selling discount Disneyland Resort park tickets and discounted Disneyland Resort hotel bookings! Here's another tip to save. You can purchase tickets preloaded with Genie+ to lock in the lowest rate.

  • Perhaps hit Splash Mountain or Grizzly River Run before your appointment so you do not ruin your look.
  • Eat and go potty before checking in.
  • Bring your own princess dress — if it is comfortable.
  • Taller girls should bring their own dress because larger sizes in the park could be limited.

  • There are benches for family members, but you might send some of the other family members off to have their own fun during makeover time.
  • Arrive with recently-brushed hair and nails without polish.
  • Bring a shawl or sweater for cool evenings.
  • Bring an overnight sleeping cap or shower cap if you are trying to preserve the hairstyle for the next day.
  • Have an autograph book and pen ready for meet and greets.
  • Fairy Godmother's Apprentices may accept cash tips.
  • If you cannot afford Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or cannot get a reservation, any member of the family can get a free sprinkling of magic from a Fairy Godmother's Apprentice's wand at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique shop.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland certainly makes a Disneyland day extra magical. Cast members and other guests compliment your child and made them feel truly special. The princesses dote on them and make them feel like they have found their people! Characters may bow to your princess! We all felt that Disney magic simply being part of the experience and sharing the experience with our little princesses.

Hi! Thank you so much for this super helpful information. I’ve been wanting to take my daughters to Bippidi Boppidi Boutique. I finally get the chance to take them next month but don’t want to spend so much. I do want them to experience the photo keepsake session and dressing up. My appointment is in the early afternoon. If I were to get a keepsake portrait session at Fairy Tale Treasures as a walk-in, is it possible to book it in the afternoon? Or is it then and there if they have availability?

Hi Virginia!

Thanks for hopping by! Walk-ins are solely dependent on availability so it's really up to their schedule! It never hurts to ask nicely, but we'd go in without any expectations.

I seen this on The Big Bang Theory where Bernadette, Penny and Amy got the princess experience. Is this not a thing anymore. I'm an adult and ever since I seen that episode all I've ever wanted is the princess experience at Disneyland. Belle to be specific. Maybe someone else does older than 12? If not someone should start. Thanks

Hi Amanda!

Thanks for hopping by! At Disney World, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations used to offer Character Couture packages for adults, but those are no longer available. We know of some stylists independent of Disney who offer princess makeup and hair makeover experiences for adults in the Orlando area, so we'd definitely recommend searching around the internet to see if there are any in the Disneyland area.

Hello! Great article… thanks so much. We have an appt at the boutique on Monday and have questions about your suggestions to bring our own dress, book a cheaper package and do photos aa a “walk-in” at fairy tale treasures… is this something that anyone can do or do we need to be magic key holders? I looked online and don’t see anything about fairytale treasures offering photos? Was there another option to photos here (other than ordering the package with photos included at the boutique)?

Feb 11, 2023 at 9:37 a.m. FrogBlog Says...

Hi Ela!

We brought our own dress and they offered to downgrade us to the package that is no longer listed as available (and do not get the T-shirt). It saved us money! It’s certainly worth a try. You can hop over to Fairy Tale Treasures same day and ask about walk-in availability for photos. You do not need to be Magic Key holders. Availability can vary, but if they have a spot, they’ll fit you in and you can save money over doing the photo package. Just do it early in the day as they close late afternoon.

Hi Shirley!

Our best advice is just to keep checking consistently in case any new bookings pop up due to cancellations. (People with reservations must cancel before 24 hours of their appointment to avoid a fee, so you could even check the day before for any last-minute availability, though not guaranteed.) If you're still unable to snag a reservation, it may be worth trying to stop by Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as soon as it opens to check if there are any openings available that day, but with it being spring break season, open availability may be hard to come by. Crossing our froggy fingers and sending some pixie dust your way!

For the makeup, it's just eye shadow, lip gloss and sparkle (no concealer or mascara). The kids get to choose the colors and keep the compact!

This article is great I just wish we saw it before our trip last week. We did the boutique last Thursday but we didn’t get to meet the princesses in the royal hall and skip the line so that’s a little disappointing considering I purchased the $229 package. The pictures also where so backed up we had to wait 45 minutes just for her to get to have her pictures taken then had to wash another 15 for them to print. She didn’t notice much because there where lots of princesses to play with but that was my least favorite part. Going through the princess hall would have broken up the time waiting for pictures. Next time though!

Hi TJ!

We've been keeping a close eye too! For a while, we weren't seeing anything, but a batch of dates opened this morning. We weren't seeing any times in October for several days in a row, but a bunch got released and there's still some limited availability, as of writing this. Our best advice is to keep checking if you can't find any for the dates you're looking for. The best time to check is usually between 6 to 7 a.m.
