It's almost that time again for SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Garden Tampa Bay's Viva La Musica! This Latin-themed annual event pairs musical acts with incredible cuisine over the course of four weekends, starting April 13. The event is family friendly, and held on Saturdays at SeaWorld and Sundays at Busch Gardens. We enjoy the whole festival-like atmosphere of the event. Mommy Frog, always the shopaholic, is drawn to the vendors selling various crafts and other merchandise.
My favorite part of Viva La Musica! is sampling all of the delicious dishes. SeaWorld’s own Executive Chef Héctor Colόn has prepared a menu of Latin favorites, including Lechón, arroz con gandules y yuca al mojo, arroz con pollo, habichuelas coloradas y maduros, carne frita con tostones, alcapurrias and ceviche. (You can find a recipe for mofongo, a fried plantain Puerto Rican dish on SeaWorld's Viva La Musica! page.)
Be sure to get to the park early to enjoy a few attractions -- such as Manta or TurtleTrek -- and shows -- such as Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island or One Ocean -- before the main festivities begin at noon!
While the concerts are free with park admission, it does get crowded! SeaWorld offers VIP packages at an additional charge, including reserved seating for the concerts, which begin at 3 p.m.
