Howl-O-Scream has swam to SeaWorld Orlando for its blood-thirsty fourth "fear" and tickets are on sale now! SeaWorld is once again hosting Halloween Spooktacular this year, but tadpole parents, take note: Howl-O-Scream is not suitable for ages 13 and under, so if you're trick-or-treating it up during the day on a night when Howl-O-Scream is taking place, you'll want to make a quick escape with the little ones when the family-friendly event ends, before the park gets a little more intense. For 27 terrifying nights, guests brave enough to face the wrath of the sirens can experience haunted houses, scare zones, shows and more.

Are you prepared to enter the sirens' domain? The #1 Best Theme Park Halloween Event in Florida is back once again and while the sirens' song may be fading, Hex will be emerging from her bayou this year with a hunger to revitalize her swampy domain. The waters and flourishing undergrowth heed her call, serving as her protective allies. With a mere touch of her hands, Hex's victims find themselves gasping for air as their bodies become entwined by vine-like tendrils. As always, the Sirens' call is relentless, whispering from every dark corner. Beware as the plants within Hex's realm nourish themselves through her victims' fresh flesh and blood. Get ready for a night of spine-tingling fear as you brave four new houses, three new scare zones and two new bar additions ... adding up to one killer event.
Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2024 Dates and Tickets
SeaWorld Orlando's Howl-O-Scream is a separately ticketed event that runs on select nights from Sept. 6 to Nov. 2, 2024. The park closes to daytime guests at 8 p.m. ... but it turns into a place of terror from 7 p.m. to midnight on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and select Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October. (Gates open at 6:15 p.m.) You'll receive a wristband, so team members will be able to know you're there for the event (and they may ask you to show it before entering certain sections of the park before it is cleared of daytime guests). Howl-O-Scream Orlando is taking place on the following dates:
- Sept. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-29
- Oct. 4-6, 11-13, 17-20, 24-27, 30-31

Best Dates to Attend
Crowds are historically lighter on Sundays and gradually increase as it gets closer to Halloween. On opening night last year, the wait times for the houses and rides were incredibly short. It didn't feel crowded whatsoever, which makes sense considering it's still a fairly new event. However, keep in mind that crowds can change as the season goes on.
Special Experiences
Make the most of the spooky season and maximize the fear factor with either of three unholy upgrades, which can be purchased directly through SeaWorld. The Front Line Fear Pass grants single-use, front-of-the-line access to each haunted house. Meanwhile, the Front Line Fear Pass Extreme grants one-time front-of-the-line access to each haunted house, one-time front-of-the-line access to every ride open during the event and one-time reserved seating to the Monster Stomp show.
Not sure if you can brave the sirens' domain by yourself? Consider purchasing a VIP Terror Tour and allow one of SeaWorld's VIP guides to ensure a night of seriously sinister fun. This guided tour is private and customizable and includes admission to Howl-O-Scream for your group of two or more, a private VIP tour guide, front of the line access to haunted houses and major thrill rides, a private VIP lounge with complimentary snacks, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks, priority access to themed bars throughout the park, dinner at one of their available restaurants, reserved seating at all Howl-O-Scream shows and preferred parking (subject to availability). A minimum of two guests is required per reservation. The VIP Terror Tour begins departing at 7 p.m. and all children under 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult.
Howl-O-Scream Park Plan
Frogs entering Howl-O-Scream should use the dedicated event entrance located to the right of the main park entrance. Frogs who have been enjoying a day at SeaWorld but who also have Howl-O-Scream tickets will be able to go to the Waterfront where they have a holding area that will allow you to enter Howl-O-Scream within the park. Know that if you leave SeaWorld at any time during Howl-O-Scream, you will not be allowed to re-enter the park. The event will continue, rain or shine.
Howl-O-Scream Orlando enforces a strict No Bag Policy. Bags measuring larger than 8" x 5", including purses and backpacks, aren't permitted through the dedicated Howl-O-Scream entrance. (However, if you are already inside the park, SeaWorld's normal bag policy applies.) This policy was put in place to expedite the security screening process of all frogs and enables SeaWorld to move frogs through the security checkpoint more quickly. If you show up at the gate carrying a bag outside of the guidelines, you will be turned away from the security checkpoint and asked to return the bag to your vehicle. Exceptions to this policy may be made for medically necessary items, including diapers, after proper inspection. These items must be carried in a clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag not to exceed the size of 12" x 6" x 12".

Have you ever wondered if we're really alone in the universe? Well ... ready or not, your question is about to be answered. You've stumbled upon an abandoned farmhouse in the middle of nowhere where the air is thick with dread. All of a sudden, the silence is broken by an eerie rustling in the cornfields and the chilling whispers of extraterrestrial visitors echoing in the darkness. They've crash-landed and unfortunately, they don't come in peace.
From a crash landed flying saucer to a spooky old windmill to a gigantic extraterrestrial creature waiting just around the corner, I was absolute awestruck by the sheer scale of this house. Another epically eerie effect were "Ring"-like arms coming out of TV screen. More kooky than spooky, this is a really fun house and definitely the one I'd recommend to start out with if you want to ease yourself into the screams. (It even spits you out into Space Gate 3 — one of the event's many themed bars — where you can meet some more friendly aliens and down another shot of liquid courage for the scares that lie ahead.)

We had some truly memorable interactions with the scare actors in this house ... but if you want an experience that will truly shake you to your core ... continue on through a hair-raising corridor where your next nightmare awaits ...

In the hopes of gaining public support and understanding for the cause, you've been granted security clearance to explore the subaquatic headquarters of one of the government's most covert organizations: D3LER1UM666 Laboratories. This unique mercenary group — founded to counter the threat posed by the seductive Sirens and other dangerous sea creatures — captures these monsters to study, experiment on and torture. Upon disembarking an undersea elevator, you'll be escorted by a dedicated task force whose job is to oversee your safety. What could go wrong ... ?
In a massive twist, the only way to access this underwater base is by going THROUGH Ultimate Gamble. If you've had enough spooks, you're free to exit after Ultimate Gamble to get back to the rest of the park. However, we always love going through this house! With an interactive entrance and special effects such as a spinning tunnel, this is definitely one that's not to be missed. Prepare to move fast unless you want to be siren bait!

Once a peaceful sanctuary of serenity and rejuvenation, the Water's Edge Wellness Center stands now as a wretched reminder of a past shrouded in mystery. Dark secrets haunt these halls where the line between the living and the dead is blurred. Head down to the edge of the misty, foreboding Central Lake and prepare for an unfrogettable journey into the macabre as horrors of the past come back to life. Will you escape unscathed or will this refuge that once offered tranquil R&R become your final resting place?
One visit to Water's Edge is truly enough to drive anyone mad. The "doctors" here will try anything to get you fixed up: group therapy, hydrotherapy, electroshock therapy, a lobotomy .... If you're lucky, you'll end up in a padded room or solitary confinement. If you're not ... your journey just might conclude in the morgue. This house was perfectly chilling with its ghostly moans and incessant ticking clock. We also love the siren Easter eggs in the newspapers toward the end of the house, signaling something far more terrifying lurking beneath the lake ...

Prepare to descend beneath the waves and venture into the depths of the unknown. The sunken city of Atlantis awaits. In this eerie underwater realm shrouded in dark legends and mystery, the air is not only thick with anticipation, but the haunting whispers of sinister sea creatures. The promise of treasure and riches beyond your wildest imagination lured you in. Untold horrors keep you submerged.
The terrors of the deep that you'll encounter in this house will definitely you have second-guessing your next dip in the ocean. Since this house is completely exposed to the elements, we recommend waiting for nightfall for the best experience (especially with all the epic blacklight effects). However, if you're a self-proclaimed scaredy-frog and would rather not dive into the deep end first, this might be a great house to tackle while the sun's still shining. Either way, try not to drown. Those who enter the Lost City rarely find their way back to the surface.

Our favorite thing about Howl-O-Scream: the scares and screams aren't confined to the houses. With several scare zones scattered around the park and blood-curdling beasts sneaking in the shadows, nowhere is truly safe. Be prepared and stay alert because you never know what haunts are waiting ahead of you in the thick fog, or are silently lurking behind you. Here are this year's positively petrifying scare zones.
NEW! Seeds of The Coven
Enter a place where the line between nature and nightmare blurs in a sinister reality. The natural world has turned against humanity, twisted by the dark arts into a floral landscape of fear and peril. If you fail to escape the clutches of the wicked witches and their horrific creatures, you're sure to become part of their gruesome harvest. Remember, the coven is always hungry and when the sun sets is when the seeds of terror are sowed.
NEW! Paradise Palms
An idyllic roadside haven in its prime, this seemingly abandoned motel has quite the chilling history. Faded pastel paint, overgrown plants and a weathered façade are the least of your worries in this eerie inn when where all reservations are extended stays. Unravel the motel's mystery and escape its haunted grounds before it's too late because once you check in ... you may never check out.

Toxic Turmoil
A hidden chemical landfill has experienced a catastrophe unlike anything ever seen. Toxic waste has mutated the creatures, plant life and human beings who live nearby. The only way out is through. Be careful where you step as you journey through this noxious wasteland. Not everything is as it seems.

Come one, come all, to the Carn-Evil Pier! Grab some sugary snacks, down a delicious drink and try your luck at the array of enticing midway games. Just know that if you lose, your soul belongs to the pier and the foreboding freaks, baleful Barkers and creepy clowns who inhabit it. Step right up, if you dare.
Terrors of the Deep
A beautiful sunken village reveals itself from the dark depths of the oceanic abyss. Filled with rotting remnants and tantalizing treasures from the surface, this lost city has been claimed by a condemned crew of petrifying pirates. Scallywags and landlubbers, beware. These buccaneers give no quarter to those who dare seek these riches for themselves.

We love experiencing all the eerie entertainment at Howl-O-Scream. While these shows are a great place to kick up your fins and catch our breath, don't get too comfortable. Danger and dread lurk around every corner.
Monster Stomp: Slasher Alley
Witness the terrifying tale of Jack the Ripper, London's most ruthless and cold-blooded killer in this electrifying musical spectacular set to a rocking modern score and featuring pulse-pounding percussion.
Featuring an epic soundtrack with killer tunes such as "Sucker for Pain" and "Bring Me to Life," an insanely talented troupe of xylophonists and an amazing squad of skeletal dancers, Monster Stomp is back and better than ever! You can get an audience with The Whitechapel Murderer three times a night at the Nautilus Theater. Most shows reach capacity so plan to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to show time to ensure seating. There won't be any admittance once the theater has reached capacity.

Presented in 360 degrees for maximum terror, this mesmerizing outdoor performance introduces you to the seductive and sinister Bayside Lake Sirens. Don't let them smell your fear.
Rides Open During Howl-O-Scream 2024
Everything is scarier in the dark. When the sun goes down and monsters come out, enjoy Manta, the only flying coaster of its kind in Florida, Ice Breaker, SeaWorld's first launch coaster, Mako, USA Today's #1 Best Roller Coaster and Pipeline, the world's first surf coaster. (All rides weather permitting.) Wait times on opening night were below 15 minutes all night long last year! We loved conquering the dips and dives of Mako in pitch-black darkness.
Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run
Be prepared to run for your life, because as nightfall approaches, terror and dread fill the air.
On Friday the 13th (of September), brave frogs will be able to dash through the dark dips of SeaWorld Orlando where eerie landscapes and harrowing scare zones await. As you navigate the racecourse, you'll be surrounded by relentless characters whispering curses and promises of spine-tingling fear. Feel the adrenaline surge as you speed past roller coasters haunted by unspeakable terrors and spring toward the finish line ... if you dare.
The parking lot will open for participants at 9:30 p.m. and registration and packet pickup will open at 10 p.m. At 11:50 p.m., the Howl-O-Sprint 5K will start and just 10 minutes later, the Finish Line Post-Race Celebration will begin which will include a Howl-O-Scream bar with food and live entertainment. At 12:45 p.m., the Awards Ceremony will take place near the finish line area at Pavilions arena. 5k race amenities will include the inaugural SeaWorld's Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run Finisher's medal for all run participants, a commemorative SeaWorld Howl-O-Sprint Run Race T-shirt and FREE race day parking.
Awards will go to the top three overall male and female finishers only. (There will be a clock at the finish line for everyone to see their finish times.) First place will receive a Gold Premium $100 gift card to Shop of Horrors (see below), second place will receive a Silver $75 gift card to Shop of Horrors and third place will receive a bronze $50 gift card to Shop of Horrors.
Registration for the in-person race is $85 through Aug. 24 ($66.66 for annual passholders), $90 from Aug. 25 to Sept. 12 ($85 for annual passholders) and $100 on race day [if not sold out] ($95 for annual passholders). Spectators can also buy a ticket for $25 and are allowed access to the pavilion area before the race starts and to the post-race festivities.
You can also register for a virtual Howl-O-Sprint! This fun run is done on the honor system and times are not required to be submitted to the SeaWorld. All virtual participants will receive an inaugural SeaWorld's Howl-O-Sprint 5k Finisher's medal, a commemorative SeaWorld Howl-O-Sprint inaugural race T-shirt and a deluxe bib number. Tormented at Glacier Bar
Take refuge from the wintery Arctic wasteland outside and fuel up in the one place where a cold frosty one is a good thing. If you're feeling a little mischievous, you can even control the fate of fellow survivors while they're braving the horrors beneath the ice. Talk about refreshing!
Longshoreman Tavern at Flamecraft Bar
Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! Drink and be merry at this seaside tavern where pirates frequent to warm their bellies and tell tall tales. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled. You might find that an old SeaWorld treasure has been (partially) resurrected. We loved joking with the jolly crew here last year! If you need a break from the screams, we highly recommend grabbing a cold one with these squiffy sailors.
CarnEvil Curiosities
The bright lights and bold colors of this cursed concession stand have a way of attracting unknowing wanderers. A world of wonder and evil awaits you at this specialty bar where the drinks are sinfully sweet, the atmosphere is to die for and the carnival magic is contagious. (Don't let it infect you!)

Howl-O-Scream Orlando Merchandise
From crystal skulls and siren skeletons to dragon goblets and cauldron coffee mugs, the Shop of Horrors just past the Howl-O-Scream gates has all your wonderfully wicked merchandise needs! You can even find even ghastly goodies, such as blankets, spirit jerseys, travel mugs and more at gift shops all around the park, such as Wild Arctic Gifts.
Howl-O-Scream also sells NO BOO necklaces for $15 so you can let the sinister sea creatures know not to frighten you while walking through scare zones. Just know that the necklace doesn't guarantee a scare-free evening. While the monsters will do their best to avoid you, some initial contact may occur. NO BOO necklaces may not be worn in houses and on rides.

Buy Tickets in Advance
The last thing you want is to be waiting in line at Will Call or risking the possibility of tickets selling out for the night! The only surefire way to guarantee admission to the event is to purchase your tickets early online (plus it saves you time and money!).
Leave the Tadpoles Behind
With the plethora of violence and gore on display, the event is targeted at adults. We always leave Lily and Tad behind with the grandfrogs! While teenagers and children are allowed to attend, we do not recommend it for tadpoles younger than 13.
Dress Appropriately
Despite the sun going down, the hot and humid Florida weather keeps September and October nights warm. (You might run into some rain, so check the forecast before you head out in case you need to bring a poncho or umbrella.) Dress in clothes that allow you to stay cool, and opt for comfortable shoes. For the safety of the scare actors and other guests, costumes and masks that cover your entire face are not allowed.
Pay Attention in Scare Zones
I may be stating the obvious, but be aware of your surroundings as you walk through the scare zones. The scare actors like to get super close to you. But they will not touch you, and you should not touch them. Also, listen closely to what they have to say because they like to improvise. Be courteous of fellow guests too. You may have the gut instinct to run away at the sight of a siren, but you have to be careful not to bump into anyone else. If you prefer not to be scared in the scare zones, you can purchase a "No Boo" necklace for $15 plus tax (however, the necklace does not work in the houses).
