SeaWorld is once again hosting Halloween Spooktacular this year, but tadpole parents, take note: Howl-O-Scream is not suitable for ages 13 and under, so if you're trick-or-treating it up during the day on a night when Howl-O-Scream is taking place, you'll want to make a quick escape with the little ones when the family-friendly event ends, before the park gets a little more intense. For 28 terrifying nights, guests brave enough to face the wrath of the sirens can experience haunted houses, scare zones, shows and more.

Overview of Howl-O-Scream Orlando

The #1 Best Theme Park Halloween Event in Florida is back once again! This time, however, a new terror is running the show. Meet Havoc, the face of fear. Half-man, half-nightmare, this hell-born punisher has been bound by the Sirens and lurking in the shadows for the past five years. This year, the breaker of souls is here to turn your fear into fuel and pain into pleasure.

Tickets and event dates for the 2025 event are available now! Get ready for a night of spine-tingling fear as you brave five haunted houses, six scare zones and five themed bars ... adding up to one killer event.

Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 Dates and Tickets

SeaWorld Orlando's Howl-O-Scream is a separately ticketed event that runs on select nights from Sept. 5 to Nov. 1, 2025. It turns into a place of terror from 7 p.m. to midnight on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and select Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October (minus the week of Halloween, when there will be a Howl-O-Scream every night!). Gates open at 6:30 p.m. You'll receive a wristband, so team members will be able to know you're there for the event (and they may ask you to show it before entering certain sections of the park before it is cleared of daytime guests). Speaking of daytime guests, normal park hours will vary depending on the night. On some nights, the park closes as early as 5 p.m. and as late as 8 p.m., but Howl-O-Scream consistently begins at 7 p.m. Howl-O-Scream Orlando is taking place on the following dates in 2025:

• Sept. 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26-27
• Oct. 3-5, 10-12, 16-19, 23-31
• Nov. 1

Best Dates to Attend

Crowds are historically lighter on Sundays and gradually increase as it gets closer to Halloween. On opening night last year, the wait times for the houses and rides were incredibly short. It didn't feel crowded whatsoever, which makes sense considering it's still a fairly new event and takes place in early September. However, keep in mind that crowds can change as the season goes on.

Special Experiences

Make the most of the spooky season and maximize the fear factor with one of three unholy upgrades, which can be purchased directly through SeaWorld. The Front Line Fear Pass grants single-use, front-of-the-line access to each haunted house. Meanwhile, the Front Line Fear Pass Extreme grants one-time front-of-the-line access to each haunted house, one-time front-of-the-line access to every ride open during the event and one-time reserved seating to the Monster Stomp show.

Not sure if you can brave the sirens' domain by yourself? Consider purchasing a VIP Terror Tour and allow one of SeaWorld's VIP guides to ensure a night of seriously sinister fun. This guided tour is private and customizable and includes admission to Howl-O-Scream for your group of two or more, a private VIP tour guide, front of the line access to haunted houses and major thrill rides, priority access to themed bars throughout the park, dinner at one of their available restaurants and reserved seating at all Howl-O-Scream shows. A minimum of two guests is required per reservation. The VIP Terror Tour begins departing at 7 p.m., and all children under 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult.

Howl-O-Scream Park Plan

Guests entering Howl-O-Scream should use the dedicated event entrance located to the right of the main park entrance. Those who have been enjoying a day at SeaWorld but who also have Howl-O-Scream tickets will be able to go to the Waterfront, where they have a holding area that will allow them to enter Howl-O-Scream within the park. Know that if you leave SeaWorld at any time during Howl-O-Scream, you will not be allowed to re-enter the park. The event will continue, rain or shine.

Howl-O-Scream Orlando enforces a strict No Bag Policy. Bags measuring larger than 8" x 5", including purses and backpacks, aren't permitted through the dedicated Howl-O-Scream entrance. (However, if you are already inside the park, SeaWorld's normal bag policy applies.) This policy was put in place to expedite the security screening process and enable SeaWorld to move guests through the security checkpoint more quickly. If you show up at the gate carrying a bag outside of the guidelines, you will be turned away from the security checkpoint and asked to return the bag to your vehicle. Exceptions to this policy may be made for medically necessary items, including diapers, after proper inspection. These items must be carried in a clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag not to exceed the size of 12" x 6" x 12".

Once you enter, there's no turning back. The next scare can come from anywhere, so summon all the courage you can to brave dark passageways and round dimly lit corners. The only way out of these demonic dwellings is through the thick of it. Here are the horrifying houses you'll be conquering this year.

RETURNING! Farm 51

Have you ever wondered if we're really alone in the universe? Well ... ready or not, your question is about to be answered. You've stumbled upon an abandoned farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, where the air is thick with dread. All of a sudden, the silence is broken by an eerie rustling in the cornfields and the chilling whispers of extraterrestrial visitors echoing in the darkness. They've crash-landed and, unfortunately, they don't come in peace.

More kooky than spooky, this is a really fun house and definitely the one I'd recommend to start out with if you want to ease yourself into the screams. (It even spits you out into Space Gate 3 — one of the event's many themed bars — where you can down another shot of liquid courage for the scares that lie ahead.)

ALL-NEW! The Collector's Curse

You're invited to be his guest. A mysterious host known only as The Collector lures wandering souls inside his lavish mansion with his vast collection of rare relics and ancient artifacts. This eerie estate sale, however, holds a sinister secret — one you'll unearth as you're pulled deeper and deeper into a twisted underworld of cursed creations and monstrous mutations. Good luck escaping this house of horrors.

A very creepy addition to the Howl-O-Scream lineup (in the best way!), this maze will shock and disturb you before disorienting you by sending you through a spinning tunnel. Don't say you weren't warned ... over and over again ...

ALL-NEW! The Rave Yard

As you stroll through the shadows of a forgotten cemetery, a reverberating bass pulses through the crumbling tombstones and neon lights glow from within the mausoleums. Heads are rolling at a sinister underground rave where the music never stops and the dearly departed never rest. Dance 'til you're dead — and long after — at the Rave Yard.

An absolute vibe, this is very easily one of our favorite Howl-O-Scream houses of all time! The party keeps on pumpin' all night long in this sleepless cemetery as EDM blasts, light flash and even the walls are jamming to the beat.

ALL NEW! Widow's Nest

Inside a Victorian orphanage shrouded in cobwebs and secrets, a formerly renowned seamstress lurks in the ruins of her twisted sanctuary. Driven mad by grief and obsession, the venomous Black Widow has transformed into something far more sinister, spinning her creations from silk and bone and stitching together a web to terror that traps all who dare to enter. Shadows slither and whisper echo through eerily empty halls, but don't be fooled. The nest isn't abandoned ... it's waiting ... and you've fallen right into her trap.

From the spooky version of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" playing outside to the cobwebs covering the walls, everything about this house warns you not to come in. Despite your better judgement, you do and are immediately caught in the Black Widow's wicked web. Good luck breaking free.

RETURNING FAVORITE! Water's Edge Wellness Center

Once a peaceful sanctuary of serenity and rejuvenation, the Water's Edge Wellness Center stands now as a wretched reminder of a past shrouded in mystery. Dark secrets haunt these halls where the line between the living and the dead is blurred. Head down to the edge of the misty, foreboding Central Lake and prepare for an unfrogettable journey into the macabre as horrors of the past come back to life. Will you escape unscathed, or will this refuge that once offered tranquil R&R become your final resting place?

One visit to Water's Edge is truly enough to drive anyone mad. The "doctors" here will try anything to get you fixed up: group therapy, hydrotherapy, electroshock therapy, a lobotomy .... If you're lucky, you'll end up in a padded room or solitary confinement. If you're not ... your journey just might conclude in the morgue. This house was perfectly chilling with its ghostly moans and incessant ticking clock.

Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 Scare Zones

Our favorite thing about Howl-O-Scream: the scares and screams aren't confined to the houses. With several scare zones scattered around the park and blood-curdling beasts sneaking in the shadows, nowhere is truly safe. Be prepared and stay alert because you never know what haunts are waiting ahead of you in the thick fog, or are silently lurking behind you. Here are this year's positively petrifying scare zones.

RETURNING FAVORITE! Cannibal Harbor

Driven to madness by a sinister curse, the inhabitants of Cannibal Harbor are no ordinary fishermen. Enter — if you dare — a once thriving port that has now transformed into a realm of grisly feasts and primal fear. The lines between hunter and hunted are blurred by a fog of madness as cannibalistic mariners stalk the port in search of fresh prey. Will you become the next course in their horrifying banquet?

RETURNING FAVORITE! Blood Light District

Beware the sinister succubi of this bedeviled borough. Those who bask too long in the streets' sanguine glow may find themselves forever bound by blood. There's no use keeping your guard up around these alluring creatures of the night. Try as you might, you won't be able to resist surrendering to your deepest desires. Sooner or later, everyone gives in to temptation.

Enter the realm of the Nightmare Citizens, disfigured souls who clawed their way out of ruin and now live to serve their master: Havoc. The blackened bones of this abandoned scrapyard, where shadows flicker with whispers and twisted metal groans beneath scorched boots. The air here hangs thick with smoke, ash and screams that never die as the forgotten burn and fear is reborn. Step into the fire, because where smoke rises, Havoc reigns.

ALL-NEW! Woodrot Hollow

As you wander through the heart of the festering swamp, you come across Woodrot Hollow, a petrifying place where the trees weep sap like blood and the ground oozes with decay. Local legend tells of a creature (de)composed of mud, moss and rage that protects its home from anyone who travels too far off the trail. Make a wrong turn and you might find yourself face-to-face with a twisted swamp-dweller and be left to rot with the rest. Remember ... the only thing more suffocating than the stench in this swamp is the silence before they strike.

ALL-NEW! Echoes in the Glass

Beneath suffocating layers of dust and shattered reflections lies a forgotten, menacing mirror maze where you may not be the only one staring back. Each pane is a portal, and each twist is a trap, as the souls of those who entered long before you scream from behind the glass. Whether they're beginning for release or company is anyone's guess, but tread carefully. Once you're inside, it's easy to lose your way ... and harder still to leave it behind.

ALL-NEW! Trailer Park Tragedy

Trespassers beware. Something wicked has festered in what was once a rowdy backwoods community on the edge of nowhere. We love experiencing all the eerie entertainment at Howl-O-Scream. While the shows are a great place to kick up your fins and catch our breath, don't get too comfortable. Danger and dread lurk around every corner. Here are the shows you'll be able to enjoy at Howl-O-Scream this year.

Fan Favorite! Monster Stomp: Slasher Alley at Nautilus Theater

Witness the terrifying tale of Jack the Ripper, London's most ruthless and cold-blooded killer, in this electrifying musical spectacular set to a rocking modern score and featuring pulse-pounding percussion.

Featuring an epic soundtrack with killer tunes such as "Sucker for Pain" and "Bring Me to Life," an insanely talented troupe of xylophonists and an amazing squad of skeletal dancers, Monster Stomp is back and better than ever! You can get an audience with The Whitechapel Murderer three times a night at the Nautilus Theater. Most shows reach capacity, so plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to show time to ensure seating. There won't be any admittance once the theater has reached capacity.

Hellzapoppin Presents: The Grave Danger Thrill Show at Carnevil Curiosities

Come one, come all! The circus is in town. With over 3,000 performances across 16 countries, the legendary Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow has redefined danger and wonder with wild feats that push the limits of human possibility. A rock 'n' roll spectacle of death, this thrill show with jaw-dropping oddities and curiosities, along with death-defying circus stunts, such as sword swallowing, glass walking and illusions, will leave you breathless and begging for more. An outrageous blend of weird, wonderful and unfrogettable old world entertainment awaits you under the big top.

If you're easily squeamish, we recommend sitting this one out. We saw the human body do things it physically shouldn't be able to — from swallowing swords and taking power drills to the face to coughing up razor blades and ... some unspeakable things with a popcorn kernel that are better left to the imagination ... If I only intrigued you, enjoy this heart-stopping, hair-raising show in the shadow of Pipeline!

Everything is scarier in the dark. When the sun goes down and monsters come out, enjoy Infinity Falls, a rampaging raft ride with one of the tallest drops of its kind into churning whitewater; Ice Breaker, SeaWorld's first launch coaster; Mako, USA Today's #1 Best Roller Coaster; and Pipeline, the world's first surf coaster. (All rides, weather permitting.) Wait times on opening night were below 15 minutes all night long last year! We loved conquering the dips and dives of Mako in pitch-black darkness.

Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 Food and Merchandise

Whether you need some liquid bravery or are just parched from all that screaming, Howl-O-Scream will unearth several watering holes where you can wet your whistle ... and join in on the scares with some spooky surprises. Premium lanyards are good for five spirit beverages and two entrées, while Standard lanyards are good for three spirit beverages and one entrée.

Howl-O-Scream Orlando Merchandise

From crystal skulls and siren skeletons to dragon goblets and cauldron coffee mugs, the Shop of Horrors just past the Howl-O-Scream gates has all your wonderfully wicked merchandise needs! You can even find ghastly goodies, such as blankets, spirit jerseys, travel mugs and more at gift shops all around the park, such as Wild Arctic Gifts.

Howl-O-Scream also sells NO BOO necklaces for $20, so you can let the sinister sea creatures know not to frighten you while walking through scare zones. Just know that the necklace doesn't guarantee a scare-free evening. While the monsters will do their best to avoid you, some initial contact may occur. NO BOO necklaces may not be worn in houses and on rides.

Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run

Prepare to race past roller coasters as you're haunted by unspeakable horrors. On October. 2, 2025, the shadows will come alive at SeaWorld Orlando. As night falls, navigate eerie landscapes and harrowing scare zones lurking in the park's darkest corners. Run for your life at the only nighttime terror trek of its kind where every stride is a fight-or-flight moment and the finish line may be your only escape.

After you survive the horrors that await in the fog, runners and a limited number of spectators will be able to celebrate at an exclusive post-race party which will feature a Howl-O-Scream bar and food, live entertainment, an opportunity to experience one of the Howl-O-Scream NEW Haunted Houses and photos with Havoc, the new event hero.

All run participants receive a SeaWorld's Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run Finisher's medal and a commemorative SeaWorld Howl-O-Sprint Run Race T-shirt. Race Day parking is included.

Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 Tips

Here are our top tips for conquering Howl-O-Scream 2025.

Buy Tickets in Advance

The last thing you want is to be waiting in line at Will Call or risking the possibility of tickets selling out for the night! The only surefire way to guarantee admission to the event is to purchase your tickets early online (plus it saves you time and money!).

Leave the Tadpoles Behind

With the plethora of violence and gore on display, the event is targeted at adults. We always leave Lily and Tad behind with the grandfrogs! While teenagers and children are allowed to attend, we do not recommend it for tadpoles younger than 13.

Dress Appropriately

Despite the sun going down, the hot and humid Florida weather keeps September and October nights warm. (You might run into some rain, so check the forecast before you head out in case you need to bring a poncho or umbrella.) Dress in clothes that allow you to stay cool, and opt for comfortable shoes. For the safety of the scare actors and other guests, costumes and masks that cover your entire face are not allowed.

Pay Attention in Scare Zones

I may be stating the obvious, but be aware of your surroundings as you walk through the scare zones. The scare actors like to get super close to you. But they will not touch you, and you should not touch them. Also, listen closely to what they have to say because they like to improvise. Be courteous to fellow guests, too. You may have the gut instinct to run away at the sight of a siren, but you have to be careful not to bump into anyone else. If you prefer not to be scared in the scare zones, you can purchase a "NO BOO" necklace for around $20 plus tax (however, the necklace does not work in the houses).
