Time is running out! The clock is about to strike midnight. The finish line is just around the corner. This is your last chance to "Celebrate Happy" at Disneyland Resort. We are in the final months of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration. The event runs through Aug. 9, 2026. With some great Disneyland deals between now and then (as well as some additional fun hoppenings at Disneyland Resort), this is the best time to go to Disneyland. Here are the top things not to miss before the Disneyland 70th anniversary ends.
Don't get us wrong — there is always more fun to come at Disneyland after the 70th ends. (We've got our eye on you, Halloween Time!) Before the spooky season begins Aug. 21, 2026, Paint the Night and Wondrous Journeys have been extended through Aug. 20. Meanwhile, World of Color – ONE returns Aug. 10 and will run through the Halloween season.
Before we hop to it, Disney California Adventure is also celebrating a birthday in 2026. You can see Minnie and Mickey in special 25th birthday outfits in Carthay Circle, try celebration foods and even purchase merchandise for its 25th.
Top Things Not to Miss Before the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Ends
We love special events and celebrations at Disneyland because they bring so much energy to the parks. You can always expect exclusive entertainment such as special parades and fireworks shows, plus new character outfits, specialty menus and so much more. There are different ways to experience the park. That means different ways to play and spend time with your family. Magical moments pop up when you least expect them. Here's your last chance to experience the Disneyland 70th anniversary in spring and summer 2026.
Paint the Night Parade
We cannot say it enough. Do not miss this amazing nighttime parade. You'll for sure be asking yourself, "When can we do this again?"
Read up on this parade and how to get the best view in our Paint the Night Parade post. It has been extended an extra week beyond the 70th, running through Aug. 20, 2026, just before Halloween Time.
Wondrous Journeys
This is a projection show with all the feels. On select nights (weekends, spring break and summer nights), it has fireworks added. It has a catchy song, "It's Wondrous," that will compete for space in your brain with the Paint the Night song. The iconic castle view can be seen from Main Street U.S.A. and in front of the castle. But you can also see the projections and hear the music at "it's a small world" and Rivers of America. (You can see the fireworks from all viewing areas.) World of Color Happiness! with Muppets Pre-Show
World of Color Happiness! is the current version of World of Color!, and it's hosted by the emotions from "Inside Out" and "Inside Out 2," but it's the Muppets pre-show that is our must-see part of this limited-time show. You can catch it nightly in Disney California Adventure. You can join the free virtual queue to get a great spot or try one of the World of Color dining packages or dessert parties. (World of Color – ONE returns Aug. 10, 2026, and will run through Halloween Time.)
Projection Shows
Besides the Wondrous Journeys projection show, you can catch two other projection shows on iconic building facades.
Tapestry of Happiness is like a love letter to Disneyland. You can see it on "it's a small world."
Then there is a short projection show that takes over the front of Carthay Circle Restaurant (with a little help from Tinker Bell) about every 30 minutes in the evening.
Celebrate Happy Cavalcade
This afternoon cavalcade is a great way to see a ton of characters at once. It even includes Duffy and Shellie Mae from the Asian Disney parks. Max joins Goofy, along with Mickey and pals dressed in their 70th outfits. You'll also see some princesses, villains and other characters from animated Disney films.
"Celebrate Happy" by the Jonas Brothers
The event's theme song weaves its way into all of the above entertainment and is played at other times throughout the day. The upbeat Jo Bros song will have you whistling and singing along throughout the day.
Merchandise
It's hard to believe, but new 70th merch continues to get released for this event. And the nostalgic souvenirs tug the heartstrings for your Disneyland-inspired iconic moments over the last 70 years.
70th Food Items

Character Outfits
Catch Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Clarabelle in their party attire. You can usually find them in Town Square at Disneyland. You can also see their outfits in the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade and when the characters walk with the Disneyland Band from the castle to the train station during the Happiest March on Earth between about 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. each day.
Decor
Throughout Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you'll see 70th signs, decor and buntings. Sleeping Beauty Castle has a 70th medallion. Wave your charged MagicBand+ at some of them in Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure to produce sounds or even lighting effects.

Throughout Disneyland Park, you can embark on a journey to discover special interactive experiences (some with free souvenirs) to unlock magical moments.
