It's time for the Frog Family's weekly roundup of Disney and Orlando theme park tidbits from the interwebs.
We love comments! Drop us a line below if you have something to share.
This week’s highlights:
-
There was quite a bit of theme park news for a holiday week, but in our household, there is really only one bit of news that matters -- Sofia the First is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios® this summer! Yes, Enchancia's young princess will be greeting guests outside of Disney Junior — Live on Stage! Lily can hardly wait to meet her favorite princess. For those of you visiting the Disneyland Resort, Sofia has already begun meeting guests at Disney's California Adventure. How big of a deal is this for you family? Share in comments below (and make sure you keep reading to see how you could win a $250 credit from Undercover Tourist).
-
For all of your LEGO fans, the World of Chima -- including water ride Quest for Chi -- held its grand opening this week at LEGOLAND Florida.
If you haven't seen it, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog's look at all of the preparation and planning that goes into designing a fireworks show. It was pretty illuminating, haha.
-
As we mentioned in yesterday's post, guests at Magic Kingdom® Park will be treated to the special 4th of July fireworks show “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” through Sunday.
-
Perhaps you also saw our post earlier this week where we introduced our first-ever Undercover Tourist of the Month contest. We're looking for "trusted tourists" like yourselves to share your tips and knowledge about the Orlando theme parks (or just your enthusiasm) on our blog and social media channels for a chance to win a $250 credit.
-
The Grand Floridian celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Walt Disney World Resort. We'd love to hear about your grand memories of the Grand ... share them in comments below.
-
While we announced the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party dates a few month ago, Disney has just released details of its Halloween festivities, including Mickey's Halloween Party, at Disneyland.
-
Those of you seeking family-friendly movies this long weekend need look no further than "Despicable Me 2" and "The Lone Ranger." Thanks to the catchy trailer, Lily has been mimicking the minions' firetruck impersonation ("bedo, bedo, bedo") for the last year, so we know which one we're seeing first :).
-
Last, but not least, a key piece of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train arrived at Magic Kingdom® Park this week for the New Fantasyland™™ attraction that will open next year.
That’s all for this week. Until next week, happy planning!
